Background Feedback *updated*

Kind of changed what I was doing again, but I feel I am getting closer to finding my way of doing things and at a decent speed. I welcome any critique. I know it isn't a usual VN style background, but I am more of a painterly type person when it comes to backgrounds ^^' Sprite isn't mine by the way....

Re: Auro's Random VN Stuff

Ha ha, that is true. I think massive fantasy swords are more of a design thing, they just look cool. Not my cup of tea, but I do find it interesting visually because of the asymmetrical balance that the character weirdly has. Most real life swords should be able to be carried by almost anyone, but u...

Re: Auro's Random VN Stuff

You both make good points. I think I may stick kind of in the middle. As long as I'm consistent and the story is good, people shouldn't question too much either way. It's like that most female fighters would wear their hair up and would wear realistic clothing. I sat in the middle by having Trea's h...

Re: Auro's Random VN Stuff

Hmmm, you also have a good point Lvuer. My story is definitely not realistic, too much weird stuff happens for that. I had given her a light long-sword, but I wonder if I could have her with something else. I wonder how people respond to that. Would they think it was too weird if she had a sword tha...

Re: Auro's Random VN Stuff

Actually you make a good point. I originally had her with a sword, since it is set in medieval alternative Europe. However, suspension of disbelief is only going to go so far when it comes to female and heavy sword without me changing her body type. And she is THE kick ass character in the story. Du...

Auro's Random VN Stuff

I'm just going to occasionally stick art work and stuff here, but only stuff that are works of my own vn. I'm kind of writing an otome vn in my spare time now, mostly while I travel to and from uni. I'm trying to focus on writing the story, but as I am more of an artist then I writer, I couldn't sto...

Re: Fantasy RPG Stereotypes

Do you know what, I looked for that for hours and couldn't find that. That is what I get for being a TVtropes noob. Granted I did get distracted every 10 seconds following every other link, but whatever. Thanks a lot for pointing it out to me :) I too think that clichés can be good or bad depending ...

Ah ha! Thank you. This was just what I was looking for! I trawled all over TVtropes looking for something like this but couldn't find a definite list. Thanks :)

Fantasy RPG Stereotypes

I'm writing an otome vn at the moment, something that is only just at the beginning, so it is a long, long way off. Plus I'm only really doing it while I travel cause I'm still at uni and I am committed as a bg artist to another project first. But planning and writing can't hurt. Anyway, it is fanta...

Re: Question regarding wordcount / length.

I think it depends on how it is written. If the word count directly equates to the length of game play, fair enough. If too many words are being used to explain something that could be said in a fewer amount, or even better, with a visual, then you may want to reconsider some bits. Visual novels ar...

Re: RockRobin - Band Manager (w/Demo)

That was sooooo amazing. Seriously, absolutely brilliant and I have only played the demo. I wait with bated breath. First and foremost, the actual graphics and interface is awesome. Clean, easy to understand and very professional. But the one thing that really got me was the writing. You didn't over...

Re: My drawings, all comments are appreciated!

For your map, you should get some reference photos. You should be able to google up a couple of images of towns and that that have been taken at a similar perspective. That will help you a lot. That being said, since you don't have a particularly realistic style, you could have a bit of fun with per...

Re: Art programs

I'm at uni to be a graphic designer and since I didn't have any graphics programs, I went and bought the student adobe CS3 package because I got a discount, which gave me photoshop, illustrator and indesign. I am able to use all the programs and I am quite comfortable with these versions. I don't re...

Re: [Yuri/VN] Project Lily

Oooo, the book is cool. I like it. The characters look very nice and polished.
I'm a bit worried about their boobs (shape and size) but that isn't something new with VNs
Otherwise good work, it looks really good and the website is quite professional!
