Re: Animated sprites.
In that case, I'll take it as a personal opinion, since my target is anime fans. 8D Well, almost all Visual Novels has that target, since the VNs are originally japanese. I stopped watching animes just recently, because they just became plain stupid. Not everyone on lemma is a hobbyist, I'm afraid,...

Re: Animated sprites.
Using "Yamato Nadeshiko" towards a video game comes off strikingly creepy. >_> I know it sounds bad, it's just my english is so horrible I couldnt find a proper term. Not everyone's going to like animation, but I think it's definitely a mistake to say "it's not going to be done well&...

Re: Animated sprites.
But no one here is discussing flashy animated backgrounds and rolling animated sprites or anything crazy. We're chatting about small pieces that will increase the experience. Did you think Phoenix Wright was "too flashy" for a visual novel? And actually, the animations I was thinking of w...

Re: Animated sprites.
What you're talking about is not really hard to program with a few tricks. You didn't got my point. What I'm talking about is that the concept of visual novel I have is about story with decent sound and decent graphics. By decent graphics I mean good-looking chars (art / colouring). I just said it'...

Re: Animated sprites.
Animated bg would make sense if they were RANDOM. Having a car passing on your screen at exactly each 5 seconds is retard. I'd just delete the Visual Novel. If we're already talking about animation - what's your thoughts on animated backgrounds?

Re: Animated sprites.
I'd feel weird playing a Visual Novel with "animated" characters.

Re: Watersaga VN ART Topic!
As a quick first impression: I'm not too fond of the character art lines (they look too plain, with not much nice line variation) nor the colours (the guy's skin looks orange to me). I'd avoid using so many saturated colours all together in general, personally. On the other hand, it's a decently ma...

Watersaga VN ART Topic!
http://img541.imageshack.us/img541/3346/watersagadivulgacao.png Hello there! Since I saw lots of topics with people posting their art, I decided to open mine and post some art/concepts of my team. Re: Customizing the save/load/menu screens
Hey there! This topic may help you. The first thing to have is the menu screens with the buttons, then you can change. You have lots of options: 1. Just changing the background, which you can do changing mm_root at options.rpy 2. Imagemaps 3. Styles 4. UI Buttons The easiest way to do it is through ...

Maybe it's just me who's still a newbie at Ren'py XD Anyway, I made my menu screen (bleh, I bet that the team will want to change it later in the development, more work to me ;_:) Thanks, Jake! I'll keep this post for future references!

Re: Main menu buttons?
Is this the only way? I don't want to use imagemaps!
I mean, I have the background without buttons and the buttons in png alpha and want to add them separately.
Thanks!

Re: The first anime you ever saw?
Well, the first anime I watched on my PC was Matantei Loki Ragnarok, which I downloaded thinking it was related to Ragnarok Online... But, in my life, I'm not sure about which anime I have ever watched. Maybe Pokemon, Digimon, Tenchi Muyo, Dragon Ball, Jibaku-kun (Bucky), Saint Seiya... I really don...
