Re: Why do you make Visual Novels?
I'm still very new to trying to create a VN, but creating stories and writing has been my interest for a long time. I've dabbled also in doujinshi and comics, but yeah, they're very time consuming and I feel there are too many stories I want to tell to stick with such a slow process. XD Also the com...

Re: What do you do to improve your writing?
I think it depends. Sometimes sentences get chopped up to give them more impact. One of my favorite books of all times, "The God of Small Things", had a lot of short sentences. & I loved how the shortest sentences can stir up so much emotion in my heart. It was short, direct, sweet an...

Re: What do you do to improve your writing?
Like with other skills, daily practice is important for me to keep my writer brain fit. XD In the early stages (and then every now and then as refresher), studying grammar is good foundation. I don't really read a wide range of books, but still read regularly. Basically the sort of authors, styles, ...

Re: How to edit photos for bgs similar to Katawa Shoujo?
um, I've definitely no expert, but one thing I've found is that one set of editing steps won't look good for every type of photograph. The level of detail and lighting in a photo makes quite a difference to the end result. For example, to get the smooth paint-like effect of the 3rd photo they might'...

Re: How necessary is a demo?
I agree with the above comments that it would depend on the type and length of the game, and also if you're feeling motivated to release a demo. I like demos from first-time projects because it's easier for me to get an idea of whether or not I'd be interested in the full-version from playing 5-10 m...

Re: For straight women and gay men
Um, seconding the old-school Japanese/Chinese high ponytail styles. I especially find this appealing on suave older men.
On younger guys I prefer short-medium length, with a messy/curly but styled quality.
But I think as long as it looks well-cared-for and stylish any length can be nice.

Re: [WIP] Welcome Home [GxG]
It's great to see an atypical GxG game in the works. The variety of obtainable characters already makes me interested to play several routes. But Leanora and Annika interest me most so far.

Re: Forced Creativity?
amen to the vodka. but more seriously, I also find that setting the project, or even just a scene that I'm stuck on, aside for a few days (or even weeks). And other creative or relaxing activities--the less writing it involves the better. But in the case of really needing to get words on the page, f...

Re: Subject 93 (A really short first VN) (WIP)
Haha wow this is really cool. The camera/message was my favourite part of the story so far (homage to GLaDOS?). I'm not part of the target audience for this sort of story, but I'd be tempted to play more. The art is great and I love the backgrounds. The colours really pop while being kind of soft at...

Re: Starlight Vega (Character and BG art up)
o/ yay GxG game. I'm looking forward to seeing further details and the full story. I wonder what other genres it will be? The art looks great and I like the character designs a lot (especially Lyria :3c).

Oh, interesting story concept. I like the idea of the future leading to a situation of reversal of progress. And the character art is really cute! Haku especially appeals to me. :3c

Re: Wayang Kulit - A Shadow Play
I just played the demo and find shadow play a very interesting concept for a VN. This sort of myth/maerchen type story is very interesting to me even if it's a kinetic novel. It looks like you'll do a very good job with it. However, that small square in the centre of the screen confused me until I r...

Re: Double Romance
I've played through a couple of times and really enjoyed it. The art is gorgeous and cute. And that detail! But also the quirky personalities and answers of the characters made it fun to play more than once. And it was neat that there wasn't a specific girl or boy path from the start of the game. Th...
