Re: Using SAI2 for background drawings
There's already a fully out and working program with the rulers that can be used for the perspective called Medibang. I don't remember how the rulers worked in SAI 2 since it's been forever, but Medibang's rulers are quite good too. Also, SAI and SAI 2 are pretty buggy programs that won't even start...

Re: Love interest doing something gamer DON't LIKE.
There's a difference between a character having flaws and a character just plain being a douchebag. "Jokes" about women looking good naked just a couple of days after meeting is a huge red flag, and I will avoid the dude like my life depends on it. And it probably does. I'm also worried ab...

Re: Dealing with frustration
1) Many people advise to just finish your first draft no matter what. Then, when everything is on paper or screen, you can see your mistakes more clearly and fix them. It's better to have some bad work done rather than nothing at all. 2) You probably think your story is boring because you've been wo...

Re: How do your diseases/disabilities affect your hobby/work
I suffer from depression and anxiety. These suckers drain all my energy and I'm always sooo tired, it doesn't help that I have a demanding job. I stopped being on medication after I moved out from the bigger city where my therapist lived, and there are no therapists where I live now. I also suspect ...

Re: Would you guys all agree that artwork is the hardest par
As an artist, I don't want to say that art is easy, but as a person I don't want to undermine other people's hard work too. Let's say everything is hard and some various parts are harder for various people. As an artist, I put the most of workload on art, simply because I'm a visual person and I kno...

Huh? When you said it, I realized that it was indeed long time since I played high fantasy visual novel. I love high fantasy! And I'd love to play your game. And Katy's too. You know, I think others are right. When I think about high fantasy, I imagine something epic and grand, which requires lots o...

Re: A Gauge Of Importance For The Elements In A WIP Summary
TBH, all of these are important and some things will be meaningless without the other. So, I'll look at it from the perspective of what will make me view your thread. From highest to lowest ranks: 1) Title/Genres/themes I do get curious sometimes, but I'm mostly clicking the threads with interesting...

Re: [Lunarisse] Help me build my portfolio! Critiques too pl
Yeah, Puppetbomb did a good job. Also, sorry, I was out of the internet to respond sooner. If you want to become a webcomics artist, I'd advice to draw comics even if you think you're not good enough. While drawing sprites and cgs is an experience, you won't learn page layout and how to place charac...

Re: [Lunarisse] Help me build my portfolio! Critiques too pl
It would be nice if you drew any of these characters http://yonyonyon.deviantart.com/art/Desolate-Souls-Character-roster-654520266 I'll give the info about their personalities if/after your choosing. As for the critique aside from mentioned stiffness, your sprite's head is way too big for his body. ...

Re: What got you into making visual novels?
It was way back in the past, that day, when there was no unlimited internet and I had to buy CDs. I found a new and shiny DVD with anime on it. I liked anime, and considering how rare it was, i bought that disc without thinking much. It was Ever17, and imagine how surprised I was to discover that it...

Re: How to write and designing a character correctly?
If you want to do what you like, the answer is easy, do what you like! like, why are you writing a slice of life story with humans if you don't like it? Are you trying to expand your horizons? Trying to challenge yourself to be a better artist? No, seriously, ask yourself why are you doing...

Re: Do my lines and coloring look better (update)
Your lines look better! Now try to make them in different sizes. The broader forms being bolder, the fine details being thinner. You also can try colored lines for more light and airy effect, like, for hair. As for the coloring and shading, I'd recommend sticking to cell shading. Use the line and bu...

Re: How much is my art worth?
Every time I see art with good structure but terrible coloring and shaky lineart I suspect tracing. Tracing other people's work and selling it as your own is a bad idea, I hope you're not doing that. Nobody will nor should commission a thief. 1) Taking your lineart, I think you're doing these with y...

Re: What is your opinion on this commissioned artwork?
You should always ask the artist for the sketch first because it's much easier to fix things in the beginning, not when it's 70% done.
