For short stories, go right into the thick of events and don't spend too much time with descriptions. One or two line is often more than enough before you dive into interesting things that enrich your protagonist's character. Just think of a name that sounds good and smooth to speak out. My naming is strictly limited to English and Chinese only, but otherwise I don't think I ever needed a name generator.
