Hm... The one problem will be starting n channels simultaneously, so the music on them is synchronized. Right now, we have sample-accurate concatenation, but not sample-accurate multiple channel start. So it would be possible (and even likely) to start the first channel, and then not have the second...

An issue, though, is that for many games, especially many of the fan-games, the game is incomplete if you do not achieve all, or at least many of the endings.
A number of mikey's games are this way.
There are also games in which the game is incomplete unless a specific ending is reached, such as MB.

Just a warning: You don't want to add ui widgets to the master layer. This layer is persisted to disk, and not all widgets can be persisted. So the midi situation won't actually get this much better, will it? What happened to the plans to convert them to mods (not that I have ever used those), or, for that matter, anything else on the fly?
