Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...

Not sure if it's okay to post links in this, but I don't really want to put the whole thing in a single post and make everyone wade through it.

In which I talk about Orlando and how I am not alright.

Re: Hierofania 2 [Fantasy] [Branching]

I was just thinking about the first Hierofania last week! So glad to see another story. Will definitely be downloading when I get home tonight. Congratulations!

Re: Renpy vs HTML5 & Flash?

I work for a tech company that used to develop exclusively in Flash and now we've moved almost completely to Unity. If learning a programming language is something you want to do in general, you would do better to learn either HTML/JavaScript, Python, or Unity. Python is generally considered to be v...

Re: Visual Novel vs Kinetic Novel

KNs are a completely legitimate option. VNDB has over 1000 entries under their Single Ending tag. If your project is really very long and you've already invested so much time into it as a single ending story, I wouldn't see much personal benefit to you for adding extra endings that you don't want. Y...

Romantic Routes, Time Loops, & Persistent In-Story Knowledge

Having an issue deciding how I want to structure my story: it’s a multiple route visual novel with multiple romantic endings as well as bad ends and a best end unlocked when you experience the good ends of each of six romantic partners. The premise is a sci-fi thriller with romantic partner pursuit....

Re: How to do Multiple Endings?

There are so many different ways to determine endings, and it really just depends on what you want to do. > There's early-branching games where you make decisions early on that take the game in widely different directions with hugely different endings. > There are late-branching games where your cho...

Re: Voiceacting in Commercial VNs-- do you?

I generally don't like English voice acting in visual novels. So, I hate being "that person" who says the Japanese is better, because I am generally opposed to the weeaboo tone of such statements, but I prefer Japanese voice acting in commercial projects. A lot of the examples I have seen ...

Re: Yaoi Game Jam 2016 [June 1st - July 31st]

Going to use this as a reason to finally start that VN project I've had bouncing around in my head for a few years now. I second the excitement for more BXB games. They're so few and far between!

Verbosity in Visual Novels

So, I'll preface this post with the fact that I've been out of the scene and community for a long time (like years of inactivity). I also haven't played any OELVN in a while, but recently got back into JVN with with Corpse Party and Fate/Stay Night. Also very hyped for the Umineko steam release in a...

I'd be interested in seeing your findings. Are you asking on other game making communities, or just here?

Re: Why do we make so many Otome Games?

But it's interesting, that a community started as BxG and switched positions almost completely. I don't think this community "started as BxG", as the others have already stated. It has and continues to be a place where people make the games they are passionate about. In that the makeup of...

Re: Ego Holic [BL 18+] [Supernatural/Dark]

Reminds me pretty strongly of xxxHolic as a premise. What will set it apart from stories of that kind; or will it be more of an homage? Although, I'm also a sucker for BL, so I'll happily play along anyway.

Re: Using a free blog site as a portfolio?

I know this thread is actually pretty ancient (originally from 2011), but there are tons of options out there for people who want to semi-professionally or professionally create portfolios for art. By far the easiest is just making a behance.net profile. It's completely free, and it's a very popular...

Re: Look at my art and give me feedback!

 Thanks for all the tutorials, i will study to improve more. I'm new on anime/manga drawings. I held off saying this the first time around, but since you brought it up specifically here, I'm going to stress again: you should practice anatomy before you dive deeply into color techniques. You ca...

Re: Look at my art and give me feedback!

A firm understanding of anatomy is definitely the first place anyone who contends to better themselves at the skill of drawing should master. The most immediate resource I can recommend is to download this free ebook and study it carefully. Figure Drawing for All It's Worth (How to draw and paint), ...
