Re: How do you make long story more concise?

How do you make a long story more concise? Look at your story, work out which bits the player will skip and cut them. Look for any part that doesn't move the story forward and cut it. Find every stage-direction and work out if you can possibly remove it, using art instead. Find every time that a ch...

Re: Visual Novels to Recommend to New Writers?

Think if author doesn't want to be bombarded by suggestions, he should schedule time to do a sort of IamA reddit type thread on Lemmasoft. That or just ask question here. Lotta VN can be quickly skimmed to get full realization of why they are good but cardinal sin of posters is to always recommend n...

Re: How do you make long story more concise?

Trouble? Personal trouble is making long story really. Seems so easy to do once stuff like art creation/RenPy code/custom effects/custom gui is resolved. (Which are hard to collect but there are makers such as you that made/able to create monstrous works by losing control of your work.) If you elimi...

Re: How do you make long story more concise?

Money introduces quality but not concise length.

Again: there've been far worse long crappy fanfic epics than short crappy fanfics.

With OELVN, not the case.

Re: Use of Textures for Coloring

Sorry, I clicked on the link and I just don't see it. Like: Imagine if orange line in pic below (which is just a random google image for water color) is thing similar to black thing in your link. See how it curves in first pic? With image above, the line also has similar soft curve but the coloring ...

Re: Use of Textures for Coloring

I don't know why I'm trying to be devil's advocate cause I already said I don't know anything about digital art which also counts for traditional art but idiot's eye says this area here shows why digital art and traditional media are apples and oranges. Maybe I just need to see more high qual water ...

Re: Use of Textures for Coloring

Ignorant of digital art but weird that you compare textures to cel shading. From the vids I've seen of cel shading, textures take a lot more work than cel shading. Even the pics there, once you spot a bad spot, it can ruin pic after the wow effect. Cel shading remains consistent based on shading qua...

How do you make long story more concise?

Off-shoot of other topic. When I see length of JVN flowchart, it seems really easy. Magic number appears to be 3. One long JVN flowchart has three major areas. Fate/Stay has three routes. ...yet aside from KS, this seems elusive in many OELVNs and yet even as bad writer I don't feel much harder to c...

Re: Zzombie Infestation 2

If it's going to make you feel better, I'm currently making a VN that has same theme as yours but way way worse. Like all that stuff you read in that blog post? That guy will destroy my work if he ever has guts to pick it up once it's completed. I personally liked that review. If not mistaken, that ...

Re: Visual Novels to Recommend to New Writers?

Not best in any of the topic I've seen but always felt Fatal Hearts by Hanako Games would have best transition from OELVN to general e-book despite age of game. Some parts have shades of Hunger Games without the debt/world background. Other parts have the Twilight/Shades of Grey crew. While not BxB,...

Re: The worst VN/KN ever created [Phase 2]

Don't have right to say this cause didn't finish in time but going in, I knew that, had I been working on a VN that "doesn't suck" I wouldn't have written and added certain dialogues just cause it's not supposed to. However, things still surprise me especially cause being bad artist, plot ...

Re: Newbies Visual Novel Project!

Alright! so it begins.. Thanks very much, I'm glad I have been assigned to artist and writer section.. so, What would make a great VN? I'm thinking, maybe it would be great to have a Mystery/ Romance type. I have an idea up my sleeve now, please tell yours, if you have any.. i guess.. As newbie myse...

Re: Has there ever been a banned OELVN?

On second thought, scratch previous Q. I don't think it's fair to dilly dally after exhaustive answer like that. I made thread cause it looks like I'm not going to be done with VN for Worst VN ever thread. No biggie, I didn't plan to participate on deadline anyway. ...but seems like Worst VN is goin...

Re: Has there ever been a banned OELVN?

Thank you! That was very informative. Just one final q: Does violating copyright mean all fanfic type work are off-limits? Cause reference to MyPony sounds like if not troll job, it would have stayed. I'm not familiar with US law or any law though. Heard fair use brought up before but never really s...

I have no idea but to be honest I thought RES was a userscript.

I think it started that way which is why I thought it was still a userscript.
