So LateWhiteRabbit, Caveat Lector and especially "shame on you" Rinima: Do you actually prefer a "polite" lie to an honest opinion? I have the distinct memory of being recently threatened with a ban over a lack of civility. You are the mod, not us. You get the board culture that...

First get your script written and edited. Use your completed script to produce screenplay documents detailing everything that needs to happen, and then use your screenplays to build spreadsheets listing the assets you need. You can estimate production costs based on your spreadsheets and the usual g...

I'm going to have multiple routes based on a variety of factors, such as how many times you redo a day, what you do in particular resets, how you interact with the mechanic that allows you to time travel, when you time travel from, when you time travel to, optional degrees of randomness, and if you...

Re: Going from writing VNs to RPGs
There is no 3 step cycle, Final Fantasy broke that rule a long time ago. Forcing players into an endless cycle will be too easy, plus rpg have become more open world and more fun than it had before. This video should explain what im saying: https://youtu.be/yxpW2ltDNow There I was, all ready to tak...

Re: Going from writing VNs to RPGs
It depends on what you're aiming for specifically. RPGs have become a mixed bag since the days of tabletop. Console JRPGs from the 90s have very different conventions from WRPG sandbox PC games from the last ten or so years. Story-based games have split into a lot of categories since their inception...

What an excellent demo reel. If that's indicative of the standard of your quality in voice acting and directing, then your services are well worth paying for.

Katawa Shoujo's story line goes like this: |------------ Emi/Rin | | | Start-------- | ----------- Misha/Deaf-chick-I've-forgot-her-name | | | |------------ Lilly/Hanako It's actually a fairly simple tree. All branching from 3 decisions! I can literally draw the whole map WITH selections. What make...

Re: Full time developers
I would hate to be full time on this stuff. Most of the enjoyment is in having this as a hobby - it's what I actually want to do when I'm finished with my real job every day. Gives me something to look forward to and takes the pressure off.

Re: Uneven distribution of choices? And other qs
What you are describing is basically how Kanon works - a VN from 1999 whose model remains the standard for galge. There are a few reasons that this style of VN has endured for well over a decade. The first is early route branching. This is very important for keeping your readers as close to equally ...

Re: Projectstuck: How to pace yourself?
It's often said that too much ambition is what kills big projects before they get off the ground. I disagree. It's simply a matter of too little work getting done. Your problem appears to be a lack of focus and follow-through. If you finish your current task before developing a new one, you will com...

Re: Looking for a general term to replace "daemon"?
If your setting is in an alternate Earth, that should be incredibly helpful to you, as you can use geography to assist you in finding the terminology that our own cultures used for their mythological creatures in the time period you are aiming for. Youkai are of course appropriate for the far east, ...
