'The fall' seems like an interesting and mysterious concept. Are you going to introduce players to the details of the fall early on in the game? Or is it more like something they will slowly find out about as they progress? I think it has a lot of potential.

Looks good, I really like the pixel art and the color palette you have chosen. It also seems like a lot of worldbuilding has gone into this.

As for the genre I'd say my first associations were RPG or Exploration Game.
