if you're going to adapt a book, wouldn't it be a Kinetic novel instead? (but if it has alternative universe sort of things) then you can make choices....

Expressions.. only do as many as you need. The World Ends with You RPG on the DS only had 4 expressions for each character. I don't think so... (are you sure you're talking about the right game?) do you know how to make photographed backgrounds conform to the (colored) character sprites.... some site termed it as "watercoloring" or making it look water-colored....but not to the extent that it doesn't look realistic any more....

All i know about sprites is that they're PNG images, but what should be the optimal dimensions for sprites?...would vector graphics fit for the job???
