@mysticichigo and sakurakimuchi: Thanks, both of you!
Sprites are for the most part complete, but now comes the painful process of formatting them and splicing (facial expressions, arms, etc.). So not much to report right now.

Re: NaNoReno 2016 General Recruitment Thread
Hi folks! I'm a writer and sprite artist looking to participate in my first NaNoRenO! I have a project idea called Pink & White - a sci-fi drama with matching game elements. ( More info located here ). My goal is to create a demo by the end of March. I'm looking for only the following: 1) Backgr...

Re: A bit afraid to post my game on Steam
("Inconsistent art" is one of the most common criticisms my games get. I often have 3+ artists working on my games so it's hard to pull together a consistent style.) Understandable. There are many VNs that have a separate sprite artist from their CG artists and promotional artists, and im...

Re: The Great American Visual Novel
Some other tropes that come to mind in addition to Sundownkid's post are Everytown, USA and Eagleland (also read Eagleland Osmosis ). I think things can be narrowed down to show whether your visual novel takes place in the American countryside, American suburbs, or American city. Once that's decided...

Re: A bit afraid to post my game on Steam
...you're gonna hear someone say "I loved your game, it made me feel something." Those moments are what I live for, and they outshine the harshest criticism. Quoted for truth. The thing I like about Steam is that indie games can reach a wide variety of people worldwide and stir an audienc...

Re: Is music important in a game?
I'd rather have a game with no music than terrible music. To be fair, music is very subjective, but if the game is specifically designed not to have music (and just has sound effects), then I think not having music is fine. I can't really make a judgement because I don't know what kind of VN is bei...

^Thank you!
Merry Christmas, everyone. I've been with my family for the holidays, so I'm working on wrapping up the sprites in January.

Re: Is music important in a game?
I enjoy having music in VNs. It can really add to a scene's atmosphere. That and I'm always a sucker for throwing out money if the VN has a great soundtrack.
I can only recall one or two VNs I have played in which the music wasn't that good, so I just hit mute.
