Re: On characters

There's some manga character clip art packages on Amazon that you can use. They're all photoshop layers, so you can swap out body parts, heads, clothes to make different poses and stuff. The art is 100% licensed for anything you want to do. The drawbacks are the cost (like $20 per package), they're ...

Re: VN Viability on the iPhone?

Jack's right. At $4.99 or $5.99, you'd be shooting yourself in the foot in the iPhone market. Also, the dozen or so games I've made bank me around $3 per day, lol. They almost all have lite versions and it took me about a month to make each one. The market is just so ridiculously diluted. However, t...

Re: Writing for a VN

I've had the best results by first writing extremely detailed biographies on all of the characters. First I'll begin with typical stats like gender, age, hobbies. Then I expand into five paragraphs about the character. Then I expand to five more paragraphs about things that I want to happen somewhe...

Re: VN Viability on the iPhone?

Yeah, I've developed around a dozen stupid little games for the iPhone (in my spare time over the last year) and am making almost no money at all. I thought maybe I just haven't found a niche yet. Another thing is the fact that a VN can sell for $19.99 (example, Summer Session) on the desktop but yo...

VN Viability on the iPhone?

Hey guys,

I'm sort of working on a VN idea and I want to make the main platform the iPhone. I was just wondering, do you guys think that's a viable market? Does anyone have any ballpark sales figures on any ports that they've done?

Re: How many people are doing commercial projects here?

I don't have one started yet, but I did go to your Ren'ai games site and I just wanted to say that it had some great advice/tutorials on starting out. Much like Lemma's site. Great work! I'm glad to see there's a healthy English community for dating sims and visual novels. If I ever get something of...

Re: Opinions about making games as a hobby/working for free

I think animator nowadays should draw faster, since technology really help in making animation. Cell-shading, 3D CG, digital illustration and animation software, etc. Only the coloring part is faster, the roughs/animation need to be done by hands, cleaned then scanned (and sometimes need approval) ...

Re: ~Footprints on the Moon~ Project Recruiting!!!

Your story sounded interesting and with only 3 characters, it doesn't seem too ambitious. Do you have an update on how it's going? Just curious.
