Re: How do you take criticism?
All it ever does is demotivate me, though, and I don't know what to do about it. I over think about every aspect of what I'm working on now because I'm scared to death of getting a bad review. Is there something I can do about this? I feel like I'm destined to fail unless I can overcome this hurdle...

Re: Aurora Fall
@Sasquatchii & denzil: Well, you guys are too kind, thanks. As far as the disappearing text goes, that was a first ever use. Ori Ochi Onoe had the text centered in the middle of the screen, as did Time's Tear and more or less also Anthridercynantide and Umeda Sky, but the disappearing effect was...

Re: Aurora Fall
Jo'ogn >> It's perfect the way it is, really. In fact, I think one of the key things about this project is that so many assets (drawings, sound, music, text effects) were designed, made and done five-six years before release (I did take more photos after that, but that was the only thing), and I so ...

Re: Aurora Fall
@ ludeshka Aurora Fall has a story, but it's not focused on it - that's the simplest way I can put it. I really wanted to stress this, because it's kind of the point of the entire VN - to show "beauty" as silent observation of things or events things without judgment. And thanks for playin...

Re: Aurora Fall
Sounds like it was quite an adventure man. =w= Sad times that I'm soooooo busy, but definitely a toast to the end of a long and winding journey. *raises glass* Thank you, sir. You may not know it, but I followed your progress updates of Homeward and was kind of using that energy that came across in...

Re: Anthridercynantide (and) Umeda Sky
Thank you for those kind words! The style that began with Anthridercynantide (since as you said that's what you enjoyed most) is also used in Umeda Sky, and (to an almost extreme degree) in Aurora Fall as well, so those may be best for that. My older VNs have a more traditional text to images ratio,...

Aurora Fall
Hello everyone, I have finished my last and by far the biggest VN - Aurora Fall - a game I have been working on since late 2007, and that has undergone a lot of changes to get to the format that it is in right now. I really hope you will have the time to read the below text, because it's really impo...

Re: Compiled game too big - zip error
If you did that on windows, you'd have trouble with the mac and linux versions. I may try to go with denzil's approach of building the Linux/Mac versions on Linux and then repacking on Linux. Also, there isn't support for building to a directory for PC builds. You'd have to unzip the zip yourself. ...

Re: Compiled game too big - zip error
Grasping at straws now, but... What if I chose in the Build menu to make only a Windows version AND renpy simply didn't create that big zip at all, and just copied the final non-zipped files and rpas to the output directory? That way I could at least be reasonably sure the Windows version is fine, a...
