It might be pretty close to the end of the day, but...
From all of us out here at Lackland AFB and other bases around the world, hope you all had a good Independence Day.

A cute little story with beautiful art. Something I never, ever expected to find out about from Mugen. XD

Re: How do you guys plot out your branches?
you can't backup handwritten notes and drawings. Unless you have a scanner, or even a photocopier. It's not a perfect copy, but if you're just after the information contained therein and not the physical drawing, then it's good enough. Always gotta poke holes, don'tcha? XD I prefer originals to cop...

Re: How do you guys plot out your branches?
As to the original question, I highly do not recommend my method. I own about eight notebooks, a couple sketchbooks, and a massive stack of loose papers that contains all of my character designs, paths, histories, and all that other background junk, as well as the paths and stuff. Mind you, I've bee...

Re: Licensing your games
I don't like to have things copyrighted other than a very vague license of attribution or MIT license. I've always been of the opinion that if they are changing or using it, even in some negative way, then people will be interested in the original, just to see what started everything. You could writ...

Re: Creating characters - your way of doing it?
Most of the physical aspects come to me pretty randomly. Not a lot of thought process goes on during that step other than "Hey, wouldn't that look cool/dorky/almost as sexy as me?" and then just build on it. As for personality, that is an entirely different thing. I start with a very broad...

Re: Switching from regular menu to NVL menu
Yet another reason I've never regretted the move from Blade Engine to Renpy. Thanks PyTom!

Switching from regular menu to NVL menu [solved]
For what I'm doing, I need to have both NVL and regular menus. Is it possible to switch back and forth between the two or define another menu statement?

Re: Text Color [solved]
Ahhhhhhhh! So if I wanted to change my default, I would need to make something to replace adv, like nvl, and place that in the Character spot. That makes a lot more sense.

Re: Text Color
Thanks. what_color was what I needed, even though there are a lot of characters to convert. Beats working with thousands of tags. Just curious, what is exactly is adv? Is it a class or just a variable? On that note, would it be possible with python to extend Character and change the perimeters and w...

Text Color [solved]
Got a rather stupid question for the forums today. The default text color doesn't work with the new textbox. Is there a command that can change the default say text color, and if so, what is it? I know I can change a line with tags, but when I have several thousand lines of dialog, I reeeeeeeeeally ...

Re: The 2008 Lemmy Visual Novel Awards - Vote Now!
When I was deciding on my votes, I grabbed the help of my assistant editor, who had never played any visual novels before. Overall, our thoughts were in pretty much the same ballpark... Best Overall: The Fucking Question Going against the grain with this vote. Except for the art, Araiah fell flat fo...

Re: Criticism and Pushing the Envelope
I swore 6 or 7 times that I was done with this and keeping out of it, but yet again, here I am to rear my ugly head. Something that gets tossed around a lot is bugging me while I work. The thing that is bugging me to no end is low quality works being called unambitious and "not putting forward ...

Re: When to use pseudonyms and when do you use your real name?
Only in a few rare situations, I always toss my name around. Be it from being a freelance editor to reporter to stocker, name recognition is important. Even if I use a pseudonym, I still tend to link to my real name. It's not like I have anything to hide. Besides, even infamy is better than folks go...

Re: WIPs and Effort : A Recent Trend
*Is reading this in a cheap hotel room as he travels to meetings* It's funny how, yet again, this has turned into another drama. :? Honestly, this is why I spend every lunch hour practicing in my sketchbook: Artists aren't easy to find, even with money incentive and very detailed, but flexible scrip...
