Re: Linking multiple files/scripts and compression
Thanks a lot! that explains most of it! it's almost too easy. But one thing i do wonder about is what order the compiler/builder will load my scripts in, and if i can perhaps specify a load order? Or do i not have to worry about that (i might define a class in "Class" file, then call on it...

Linking multiple files/scripts and compression
Lets say i would like to write a big RPG project, i would like to store dialogues about certain topics seperately from each other. Or just store dialogue for main storyline characters seperately. As any good rpg there would have to be some opponents to fight in it, so i would like to have a database...

Re: Dungeon crawling RPG frame
Thanks a whole lot for this nyaatrap, this thread and it's contents have been really helpful! But the binary map you have in the lower right corner of your screenshot doesn't seem to be showing up with your example code/game, a minimap system seems pretty important for a dungeon crawler so how can i...

Re: How hard to learn and how best to learn?
Thanks for the reply :D A big project is indeed not the first thing one should do, but i'm not a complete novice, just a beginner :) I've written a handful of mini-projects (School projects actually) in C# and Python, also done a bit of webpage construction(HTML, CSS, Jquery) and some basic SQL. Eve...

How hard to learn and how best to learn?
I'd like to make a game in Ren'Py, i'm pretty decent in design & production (know what to do, in what order, how to prioritize, what limitations to stay within, etc) so that's no worry, the game is still only being conceptualized, but i expect a few weeks, maybe a month from now i'll have to sta...

Re: renpy.exe virus
I guess i can't bring up any numbers, it was only a speculation, since no one i know that has the first idea about computer security, or is just good with computers in general uses it. Everyone who is just a normal computer user with no particular knowledge about what you can do in the control panel...

Re: renpy.exe virus
No one uses UAC. too many compatibility problems and chances of other problems arise when you use it. Also everyone hates it
Thanks for that link Lishy.

Re: renpy.exe virus
IE? blurgh. Steam is a better browser than IE, and Steam as a browser is pretty bad in my opinion, although it is very secure i believe. Win8? blurgh. All new files? so if i'd make a c++ or c# project in visual studio and build it into an .exe would it block that aswell? That security is just silly....

Re: renpy.exe virus
Is there a way to report a false positive to bitdefender? here: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showforum=138 papillon, i didn't need a tutorial about how to use an antivirus (all i needed was an example to prove the point, which you gave) and i'm pretty good at knowing about false positives...

Re: renpy.exe virus
I've never had to do that so far. the only one was a game i didn't exactly trust so i didn't. (had to unblock an exe to be able to save/load) Give me one example? Someone else said: MIDAS is the "Malware Intrusion Detection Advanced System" from BitDefender. The 3 probably is the version n...

Re: renpy.exe virus
I know this. but if an antivirus is picking up renpy as a virus, isn't there a chance it would also pick up any game made in it as a virus?

Version 6.15.2 OS is Win7 Ultimate 64 bit. and i downloaded the auto extracting 7z.exe file I downloaded it yesterday and installed it. It seems to be working fine, i launch it ones and no problem, the next time i'll launch it bitdefender calls it malicious and tries to either disinfect or block it....
