Re: Abeiramar's music (critic please) [UPDATED 13/07/11]

Gaah, you're really near creating a tune that will sound quite good. Your timings for the drums are a little late there ^^ you should simply put the bass drum at the beginning of measures instead of its current position (it sounds off). But it comes now very nicely and you're now on the good path. K...

Re: Have you ever considered wearing nekomimi?

That's funny, my sister went to Japan last year and bought cat paws gloves, but said she couldn't find the tail nor the ears.
I guess when it comes to this, you have to go to "special shops" XD

Re: Abeiramar's music (critic please) [UPDATED 13/07/11]

I listened to your tune. This time it has a set main theme, but the timings are off. You're starting with a set pattern... To describe it into words, it makes some sort of *bam*ba-bam*bam*bam*bi-bam* And the "bi" is somehow out of place. In other words, you're introducing semi-notes where ...

Re: Using a free blog site as a portfolio?

I think Mugen's right. But I beg to differ. CSS is great XD Coupled with ajax, you will have the basics to understand how to code in html5. I don't really know about portfolio though. If it's for professional uses I think it would be a plus if you owned your own domain because you're basically free ...

Re: Online tools to create music

Ooh, I remember how I started music: MMM was still at its first stages, yet I was making songs that seemed to please my few friends.
That's where I learned the concepts of modules, tempo, composition (introduce the instruments one by one, drum rolls before important moments, etc)
So much memories T_T

Re: AzureXtwilight's music+pic dumpage :3

Oh if it's about face, I might be able to contribute ^^ I've noticed that even in semi realistic style, you shouldn't draw with a space between the eyes over 1 eye and a half or else your character looks kinda weird. In "cute style", Clannad for example, the space is exactly equal to 1.5 a...

Re: Omedetou Nihon!!!

Too bad it was decided only on a penalty shootout. But overall, they played on equal terms and it was really breath taking. USA girls are quite good! Well, to be honest, the level of play doesn't seem like what you're used to see in first league with male teams, but it was quite refreshing. Fair pla...

Re: Abeiramar's music (critic please) [UPDATED 13/07/11]

I've been listening to some of your songs. For now, it seems very experimental because of the choice of instruments. You have been mixing traditional instruments (piano, strings) with electronic ones without transitions, which results generally into something unpleasant to hear. Also, your themes ha...

Re: some SAI basics - lineart and colouring

Nice tutorial. Is there any way to make a tutorial about character postures and compositions? I'm really lacky in this field and even drawing from real life photos does not help :/ I just... Can't seem to be able yet to capture a pose that seems lively (with movement induced) and natural (with poses...

Re: Yesno_prompt and game menus

Ah I didn't really understood your question at the first time, you might have wanted to know if it was possible to restyle the yesnoprompt screen? If you want to remove the prompt maybe you could simply pass the called function to True, so that it will interpret it without showing anything on screen...

Re: Building via command line

There's a simpler method: you might want to build once (without archiving, if it's for testing purposes) and edit the script in the resulting build. It autocompiles each time you modify the script (after saving it of course). Then you only have to execute the program and there you go for all your te...

Re: Yesno_prompt and game menus

In screen.rpy, in the common folder, there is this function that asks you to confirm in the function constructor. Maybe if you hack this function so that it doesn't self checks, you might have the result you want. class MainMenu(Action): """ :doc: menu_action Causes Ren'Py to return t...
