When all you have is a hammer ...
Honestly, Ren'Py may not be what you need, unless you know Python.

The art in this looks great. I can only hope that the story compares. What do you think so far?

Re: Deleting Save Games
Great. Even though there's a long page of save slots, it's nice to be tidy.

You have clearly answered both parts of my question. I understood perfectly. Thank you very much.

Margin of textbox not moving with side image [SOLVED]
Sometimes, the textbox is fullly wide when the narrator speaks. Sometimes, it is shortened when a character speaks. The textbox is not shortening. I don't know why. If I can solve this, then I believe that I can solve some of my sideshow problems (but not all of them). init python: config.layers.app...

Re: How do I show all the layers at once?
I have thought a long time about this and found another way to put it.
I want to create a "stack" of images and show all of those layers at once with the show command with dissolve.

I solved the launcher.py program but not downloading the whole HTML file but by going to the link and clicking Download at the top.

Developing a sideshow Character class with children
I have very long character definitions. Ideally, I would want to program a class and define the other characters as children of that group, removing and modifying features as needed. I know how to do it in other programming languages, but I'm not familiar enough with Python or Ren'Py yet to know the...

Re: "living in Communist country - the simulation game"
Your plea touched me ... I can very probably help you with backgrounds or sprites, if your needs overlap my own. I have a wide variet of game locations in my own. And, if I do something different for you, I can probably use it still since I have large amount of scene BG. A lot of games also use filt...

Re: Changing one layer while keeping another; staggering effect
I'll let someone else more experienced with Ren'Py's ample GUI customization answer the first, but I know it involves a ui and overlay. The answer to your second question is here: http://www.renpy.org/wiki/renpy/doc/cookbook/Double_Vision . That code pretty much works out of the box even with newer ...

Re: Changing mouse function [Solved]
It's useful for other things, like making only the textbox invisible but leaving a GUI, for instance ... or hiding it so that you can see the background.
Just don't forget to revert it. In my case, I used text styles on a Character with None.

That's alright, I just ended up using AG Foreigner, Vera, Felt, IGaramond, and Mary Dale instead, all TTFs.

Re: ATL Video
Wow, how do you reload the game like that? What's your keypress? ... Is it something you do from the Ren'Py screen or Jedit? Can it be done with SciTe? For someone like me, this additional language is a dream come true! Opacity, rotation, zoom, movement ... eventually Ren'Py will become more like Fl...
