Re: [WIP] Errant Heart

Oh, wow. That art is absolutely stunning. Did you make those backrounds too? I'm impressed, if you did. Hell, I'm impressed even if you didn't. The character art alone is amazing. It's difficult to base the quality of the story off of just the summary you have, but I have high hopes for this one alr...

Re: Being Overcritical of Your Own Work

I can understand what all of you are saying, but I do believe that Allegro has a point, in this case. I've kind of gotten to the point that any critique that I make for myself is going to be serious enough to drive me to want to rewrite. Art is sometimes a little different, but it would still be bad...

Re: Being Overcritical of Your Own Work

These are all actually sounding a bit helpful. I can't be sure they'll work, but I'll definitely give them a shot. NaNoing it seems like an interesting way of handling things. Though I don't know if March will be the best time since I'll actually have something else to work on then. I can certainly ...

Re: Replay Value?

Really, the reasons for replaying a dating sim would probably be pretty similar. Though, in that case, it would be the opportunity to see each datable character's back story. If one has an intriguing history, then it's likely that I'd want to see the others, even if I don't happen to like the other ...

Being Overcritical of Your Own Work

Okay, this is a problem that I've been having for ages, and it's starting to drive me absolutely mad. I'm sure I'm not the only one who does it, so I figure I'll bring it up and see if anyone has any tips. Whenever I start up a large project, part of the way through I wind up looking back at whateve...

Re: Replay Value?

I think the main thing that makes a game replayable to me isn't really the extras outside of the game, but rather the possibility of seeing a whole new perspective of the story. If an alternate route is done well, then it will feel entirely different than any other routes, and hopefully clear up som...

Re: New Year's Date

Glah! That is quite possibly the weirdest expression of shock I've ever seen. Now, when I saw that this was going to be just a dating game, that it had almost no posts in it's topic, and that the character sprite used was something unoriginal, my expectations were quite low. Fortunately, I was pleas...

Re: Your most favorite obscure game?

Legend of Mana. Oh god, Legend of Mana. I don't think I've ever seen a game more under appreciated and unfairly criticized as that one. The crazy thing is that it's a part of a relatively well known series, best known for the popular SNES game Secret of Mana. It just happened to get close to no love...

Re: Memo [1.02]

I just thought I should mention that I played through this, and got two endings (5 and 6). Normally I would give more detailed critique, but it doesn't seem like there's much to say that hasn't already been said. The game is very pretty and well written, but the story itself leaves something to be d...

Re: [WIP] American Jurassic (demo available, artists needed)

I have no idea why this hasn't gotten more attention. It's actually quite good. The concept's particularly fun. There's little not to like about dinosaur ranching in the American West. They're not without their minor flaws, but for the most part the writing and sprite art are great. Though, by the s...

Yes I am, actually. Why do you ask?

I did suggest it as a possible way to handle critique, but everyone seemed to prefer the email method.

Re: Looking for Someone to do Writing Critique

Heh, I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying it at least. That's the main thing I hope to accomplish. By the way, you don't have to send me all of the critique at once. Feel free to email me the files individually as you finish them, if you would prefer that. It would probably keep the workload from s...

Please add suggestions in brackets. That way I can tell what you changed.

Sorry about the length. When I said a lot of writing, I meant a lot of writing. XD

Hm. That might actually be helpful. So, sure, why not? Just PM me your email address, and I'll send it to you too.

XD At least with all of this I'll get a nice variety of opinions.
