Re: [OPEN]Ryuno's store: custom music and SFX for your proje

Just wondering if you would be comfortable producing some tracks that have a synthwave feel, Mitch Murder, Perturbator, Dynatron, etc. I'm getting tired of talking to record labels and don't necessarily want to produce anything myself. Perfectly fine! I love working with synthwave, it always gives ...

Re: Background Artist for Hire

If you're not drawing from scratch, you really need to make that clear to potential clients. To not do so is misleading and highly unethical even if the art license allows for it. If you're serious about taking commissions, I'd advise you to come back with a portfolio that reflects what you can do o...

Re: How to make commissioning art easier/safer for buyers

And requesting an artist imitate another artist isn't always a possibility. With music each piece can be complimentary to another piece, from a different musician without making the game feel like its done by multiple opposing groups. I have to disagree: in any of the games I worked that had more t...

Re: How to make commissioning art easier/safer for buyers

Budget for the whole project with the artist, but pay per asset. 50% upfront on that asset, 50% upon delivery. That's how I work with music and it protects everyone involved. It protects me if you don't have at least 50% on what is expected, I shouldn't start working based on the promise you'll get ...

Re: Should we be encouraging?

about musicians and payments. most of them don't even need the small amount of money that comes out of these projects and they participate as a hobby. Are you sure no one else is doing it "as a hobby"? Because by that logic it's pretty easy to get out of paying everyone else. In fact, the...

Re: is FL Studio really all that bad? Other programs to use?

To a certain extent, the different commercial DAWs are all equivalent and the differences between them can be chalked up to workflow changes. It's all a matter of what works best for you, although I suggest everyone to read the manual before switching to/from any to another one.

Re: Composing For Visual Novels as Opposed To...Everything E

Am I coming at this the wrong way? I've only really composed for documentaries/short films/more linear games before so it's a real switch. You are. Your only concern when making music for visual novels is doing the most fitting tracks for a specific mood or scene. With other media, you usually have...

New demo

This is a short synthwave/retro track I did to test my most recent acquisition, a 1983 Korg Poly 800. Besides the drums, everything you hear comes from that synthesizer.
