The Megatokyo FAQ seems to infer that if it ain't Japanese, it just ain't right.

I don't expect more than a niche market, but the long tail can't just be chopped off. If video rental stores can sell Local Hero alongside National Treasure , then video game stores can sell less popular titles as well. edit: On Wikipedia, I decided to use the phrase "anime game" to descri...

Still, if it were like that, it may be that things could slip into another extreme - just like the "hated" sex-only games, this can lead to overglorifying of intellectual story-based games. Well, what's wrong with that? If you try to sell eroge as a genre to an American video game store, ...

I don't want to fold all eroge under the term of "dating sim" or "visual novel". Quite the opposite, in fact. Brave Soul and Viper Paradice should be hidden underneath the store counter, and CLANNAD (for instance) should be on display.

It's the author's choice whether to have interactivity in the game. It makes it a different kind of story, but it isn't separate from a visual novel, the same (er, opposite) way Choose Your Own Adventure is still a sort of book.

A "dating sim" may technically be a Tokimeki Memorial kind of game, but it's used more often to mean any ren'ai game. And nobody would misinterpret you if you used it that way. That's not misinformed or overly vague; it's merely adapting the word used for the first widely known ren'ai game...

It's funny, I thought "bishoujo game" and "gal game" were uninformed terms for "eroge", and "ren'ai game" was simply a misimported word for the proper English "dating sim", but I guess it's a bit more specific than that. I generally just refer to vis...

From what i heard, they aren't as popular now as they were in the Past in Japan. They pretty much reaching the end of the roads, but still have a secure place in the world. Yeah, the hit band in Japan today is Orange Range (o-ren-ji ren-ji). Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi is an awful, awful kids' show, but th...

My hosting runs out in September (weird thing to say after just starting the page!), so if anyone wants to take my table and maintain it please let me know in the next few days.

You can have the reviews if you want, or throw them out-- no matter.

1)what's wrong with MSN? (apart from the fact it's microsoft and has been hit with viruses...) I don't like it because it's Microsoft and they won't make a Linux version. Every other messenger has an official Linux client. But yeah, when it comes to instant messaging I use Jabber and would prefer e...
