Re: Text Speed Discussion

There's more to the Ace Attorney example, actually. In AA, the scrolling text does two other things. First, it denotes the characters' speaking speed. When character are thinking deeply, the text moves a bit slower, but when they have their lightbulb moment, there's a screen shake effect with a soun...

Re: Character Model Stand Ins

Having played The Sims before, that seems like a lot of work. Unless you have a mod that lets you modify their emotions and poses easily, you'll be sitting there telling them to do things over and over again hoping to get the screengrab you need. Seems like stick figures would be more efficient, esp...

Re: A Massive, Collaborative Visual Novel?

Wow, first post in a while and it's this . I was the lead... designer... or whatever for the aforementioned LemmaTV. I am not one to tell people not to try something they want to do, but for the love of Arceus, do not try this . It... seems romantic at first. But I was at the epicenter when everythi...

Carassaurat, MomoiroGirl, thanks for the feedback. I'll try to see what details I can add to the face to make it more lifelike. I appreciate it!

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

This is my first attempt at something like this. (Also, it's been a while, guys...) Anyway, my art is exclusively rotoscoping, so I tried a Hotel Dusk: Room 215 style. What do you think?

Re: The Time Stones [Adventure, SF, Character-Driven]

Ah, sorry to say, no. Didn't want to make a big deal about it, but this project's been canceled after the demo was released due to lack of funding and manpower. I'm glad you found it interesting though!

Ren'Py and Windows 8 Tiles

I recently got a Surface Pro 3 Tablet loaded with Windows 8. I loaded my game demo on it and saw that much like some other products, the icon doesn't fit with the multi-sizable tiles that are used on Windows 8's Start Menu. Is there a way to create these icons so they can be used by Windows 8 and be...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

Figured I'd try a slightly modified shading style. Still cel-shaded, but more dynamic than previous attempts.

Re: The Time Stones [Adventure, SF, Character-Driven]

Wanted to respond to these when I was free. I finally have some time! XP What I really liked: 1) The writing is solid. Intelligent without being long-winded. 2) The story pacing and progression. They encounter one problem/challenge after another, so things keep moving without any lulls. 3) The chara...

Re: The Time Stones [Adventure, SF, Character-Driven]

Interface: -I second Obscura's comment about the fonts. It looks really ugly. Pick a font or two and stick with it. Fair enough. I can make all the typed fonts the same, but since the journals are handwritten, I don't think I can make them look the same without people thinking Gage wrote the myster...

Are you talking about the main font, or the journal fonts?

Re: The Time Stones [Adventure, SF, Character-Driven]

Thanks! I chose to only have one character on the screen at once because of other VNs I've played. It was mostly with dating sims set in Japan from other members, but they would show 2-4 characters on the screen at once. Characters would be named, for example, Takeshi, Hikari, Musashi, and Akari. Wh...
