Side Image Above Textbox?
I feel like this is a really basic question but how would I go about making side images like in Butterfly Soup? The image is above the textbox and fades in and out. I haven't really manipulated side images before and my main question is if it's like a namebox where it has a frame and padding? And al...

Re: Cottagecore Story [ALLxALL] [Fantasy, Slice-of-Life, Romance]
Gonna extend my deadline for the demo another week to July 16th because I have way more sprites than I thought I would. Like...10-12 sprites (the 3 main love interests have 2-3 alt sprites each) and other quality of life stuff like sound design and GUI. On the bright side all backgrounds are complet...

Re: Cottagecore Story [ALLxALL] [Fantasy, Slice-of-Life, Romance]
@Zelan Hey Zelan, thanks for the feedback! I'm in the same camp of not self-inserting haha, and I'm glad the characters interest you! Your perspective on the choices make sense too, I'm definitely keeping that in mind as I get further in writing since the current first act doesn't have choices that ...

Re: Cottagecore Story [ALLxALL] [Fantasy, Slice-of-Life, Romance]
I decided to update the main post with some more information on the story. I didn't want to give away too much but it looks like more context was needed so hopefully the story and the character's roles are more clear. On a side note, I've finished 2/5 of the backgrounds and created a full body compa...

Re: Cottagecore Story [ALLxALL] [Fantasy, Slice-of-Life, Romance]
@Aracade Hey, thanks for checking out the thread, and I'm glad you like the idea so far! For the player character, I'm trying to catch something in the middle, where some parts are set in stone but minor preferences and ways of dealing with problems can bring the player closer to the other character...

Re: Cottagecore Story [ALLxALL] [Fantasy, Slice-of-Life, Romance]
@parttimestorier Thanks for the feedback! I do plan on the MC having a set personality and a "default" name/appearance at the start if the players don't have a preference. That makes a lot of sense though, I can see how it can be jarring at times and I'll keep that in mind when writing. At...

Re: How do you guys outline your scripts?
I think having it semi-outlined but then ending up straying from the outline when you start writing is a pretty normal thing to have happen! It doesn't mean your outline was wrong, just that your ideas changed and developed more as you worked. A bit of that is probably bound to happen to everyone. ...

How do you guys outline your scripts?
Hey everyone! I wanted to know how you guys outline your scripts and keep your story on track without losing the pacing? I always find myself writing way more than my desired word count but I've read branching stories that feel complete that are under 30,000 words. Right now I'm struggling with my s...

Re: GUI Feedback please
At the moment the GUI feels pretty modern with how sleek the gradient and textbox edges are.The upper right menu and name box give me more of an old noir vibe and I definitely think you could apply the same elements to the body! For example, a stronger texture, increasing the size of the washed out ...

Re: Art feedback
I think the shading is fitting for this style! With pastel, the darker shading around the line art makes the main color pop. I notice that the eyes have a really pretty shading in particular, specifically the gradient with the white highlights--if you wanted to try something more detailed maybe you ...

No wonder!! They both match so i'd say that's pretty impressive hahaHitOrMissy wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 5:25 pm Thanks so much! Wren's right hands in both poses were done freehand (ha!), but his left hands were traced from pictures of my own.

I really loved FetchQuest so I'm definitely keeping tabs on this one! Your progress is a delight to read/look at and the detail on Wren's hands specifically turned out so well??

Re: The Riddlemaster [Puzzles][Action][Fantasy]
I took a break from the Riddlemaster to write my other visual novel, Hollowed, but I got super stumped and I decided it would really boost my confidence to a least finish one story first and get some feedback from others, so I'm back on the grind again. All the art assets (backgrounds & sprites)...
