Animations that don't loop

I'm trying to incorporate state change animations (animating the transition of a character from one state to another) and I need for the animation to be cycled through once and not repeated or looped. I looked throught the documentation but haven't found any info on this and can't figure it out on m...

I do too, and the link doesn't work. Seeing you got all these good reviews, I'd like to give it a try.

Thanks.

the Evolution of Adventure Games

Here's an article that was slashdotted and seems relevant to Ren'Py game designers. Enjoy!

Tools for writing VNs

Hey guys and gals, I'm working on the script of my VN right now and thought it might help someone to share this tidbit of info. I'm using a program called Freemind. This is a mind-mapping program and allows for branching of ideas and works really well to keep track of the multitude of branches in a ...

Re: Interesting potential resource for Visual Novel music

I've gathered a lot of music for the VN I'm working on from Jamendo. I find it's really simple to browse music, download albums or just single tracks using torrents or through direct download. Most of the files I found have CC licenses compatible with making free Ren'Py games. I'm not inclined to to...

Re: System_Addict

Update: Due to unavoidable circumstances, I cannot deliver the game within the time frame I expected to. It has advanced well and is going to continue to progress later next week. I will not set another arbitrary date and will instead simply post the game in the "finished" section when the...

...how big a part will the hacking aspect be? While this isn't crucial, someone who doesn't know much about computers will be throuoghly thrown off by all the teckspeak. You won't need to know anything about computers to play this story anymore than you need to know about guns to watch a western. T...

After much lurking and much preparation, I'm ready to announce that I'll be delivering a game in one month. This coincides well with the NaNoReNo I've been reading so much about in this forum. My game will be a computer crime mystery. You play an undercover agent who's goal is to infiltrate a group ...

Re: Lost Threads

Getting this game working was well worth it. I'm impressed with the story. A lot of twist and turns along the way. I usually don't like reading through a whole story without any choices or options but in this particular case, there was no down time. I never got bored. One of the best stories I've se...

No, not OpenGL, I'm just reiterating that your initial code for fighter_demo functions, while I cannot get the other to run yet (I'm not a programmer, so I'm not tempted to fix it myself).

Running main.py turns my cursor into a cross and nothing else happens except that clicking anywhere causes beeping for a minute or so. that was by clicking on main.py from gnome after allowing execution as a prog. in the terminal I get the following: usul@minipax:~/kazama_2007.11.17w$ ./main.py : co...

Re: Lost Threads

I'm using the latest (Character Actor) version on Ubuntu Linux.

I tried to get it to work, but without success. I checked out the art in the game folder and it looks really good.
