Re: Kajima [Fantasy|Drama|Romance] + Demo
Huh, guess it has been a while since the last update. So, uhm, I'm currently sitting at about 35.000 words, but after writing that much I suddenly realized what a big mistake I actually made. :/ The whole game is pretty much a break of the holy "show, don't tell" rule and I only really not...

Re: Kajima [Fantasy|Drama|Romance] + Demo
So, I haven't written anything the whole week and only sat down this evening, but I can update wordcount to ~28.000 ! :D Right now I'm at the point where the story separates in the 3 different routes/endings. I think we will look at about 40-50k words in total. If I keep on working like this I may r...

Re: Rising Angels: Reborn [GxB] [sci-fi]
Well, just having a GxG route just for the sake of having one isn't really better. I would definitely prefer a friendship route instead.
This looks really amazing, I'm looking forward to it!

Re: Is a visual novel a "game"? Grad student needs your opin
Yes. Not because I decided myself to think of them as games, but simply because I do. Playing a Visual Novel and reading story are completely different things for me and I approach them differently, too. I have no problem at all to read ebooks at the computer and did so a lot of times, but I'm usual...

Re: You can only click when the dialogue was done. How?
Why don't you let the player decide themselves how slow or fast they want to read? I'm pretty sure most of us here don't really like being forced to read at a certain pace and I really wouldn't recommend doing you so.

Re: The City of Black and Graey [KN][Short][Psychological]
Haha, well, yeah, there isn't really much to say about this. I just kinda wrote what popped first into my mind, without thinking about too deeply.
But I really want to know what you think about the music.
I don't play my games with music, so this was the most difficult task for me there.

Re: What is your favorite writing tips ?
Chuck Palahniuk's advice of "unpacking" goes further into the idea of "show, don't tell" and is one of my favourite tips. I'm yet to find any tips that particularly resound with me for writing dialogue, though, and VNs tend to be more dialogue-heavy, so I still struggle a bit wi...

The City of Black and Graey [KN][Short][Psychological]
http://i.imgur.com/EQvU019.png Synopsis: You find yourself in a grey city and talk to the black citizen to find a way back home and possibly to understand what's going on. Around 5000 words. A short game I made in less than two days. All art is made by myself (obviously). Made as distraction / exer...

Re: Marriage Contract [Romance/Psychological]
Thanks for the new link! I played it and I liked it. The idea behind it is very interesting! It made me feel a bit sad. Though next time you should properly credit the art.

Re: Solstice - a mystery from the makers of Cinders [pre-ord
Pre-ordered, played and now I am really looking forward to this. I wasn't really interested in this when I first heard about it, but thought to look into it because I really want to support you. I only wanted to play for a couple of minutes, half an hour at most but I played for hours. I really, rea...

Re: What was your first story?
Uhhh, I guess it was the fanfic about some kind of weird fairy tale we were reading back in 4th grade. For my probably first story it was quite long, 16 pages or so and I was mighty proud. Everyone in class had to write a story and we made them into a little back as memorabilia, I still have it. (: ...

Re: Kajima [Fantasy|Drama|Romance] + Demo
Don't mind me. I'm just sitting here, working on sprites. Huh, look at that. Seems like there is gonna be a battle in the game? So weird! Current progress: Roughly 18.000 words written, including 3 early "endings". I also wrote one battle. And I mean wrote, not scripted. That's gonna be fu...

147 MB for a game with 5k words? I'm quite curious, how did you manage to do that? Especially considering you described it as "minimalistic".

Wow, that looks really great! Definitely a big improvement compared to the old version regarding the emotions it conveys. I love it.

Re: How to release a demo?
Open the Ren'Py Launcher, make sure you've selected your game and click on "Build Distributions" on the right side. Wait until it's done and upload the file on mediafire, your dropbox account or really anywhere else you can upload zips.
