Text transitions slowly in only one part?
I've run into a really weird bug and it only happens in my main project file. When I start the game, the text runs really slow and appears to be using a dissolve effect during the transitions, rather than showing the next line of text instantly. Once I jump to the next label in the game, though, it ...

Re: Voln [ XXX Fantasy RPG ]
Tbh, I'd say the initial reply to this topic is a bigger concern than the financial sense of his patreon tiers. m0RV is using other people's work despite not paying them. He brags about doing it multiple times about winning PayPayl disputes against artists and taking their money. That alone does not...

Re: Ren'Py Real Time Capabilities?
It should be doable. There's a thread that might help your friend here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=37939
If you're limiting the time by something shorter (i.e: a few minutes) that the player has to wait out you can set it to an in-game timer.

Re: What got you into making visual novels?
Honestly, because VNs is one of the easier game genres to get into development for. Many game engines either require you pay a fair bit for its use or require a lot of programmer saavy, which can be a hurdle to get over if you're just starting out or don't have a team. VN making is something I found...

Re: Using Patreon/Ko-Fi
IIRC, Patreon can also be set for something like 'everytime I receive a certain amount of donations, I'll release a video'. However, similar to what KittyWills said, that sort of format seems to work best if you're releasing something episodic. I've used Patreon for my project and never got anywhere...

48RaVZyCB-Q We’ve recently been playing around with changing how players interact with the menu during exploration mode! While the original button toggle worked, it was a bit clunky, so here’s a video showing off two possible alternatives. It’s still a work in progress so we're looking for opinions...

Using Patreon/Ko-Fi
Out of curiosity, does anyone here really use patreon or Ko-fi to help fund their projects? If so, have you had much success? If so, how? Glancing over some of the more successful patreons for VNs, a lot of them seem to either have an established fanbase to begin with (via multiple games or releases...

Re: !! Writers Needed for Voln, an XXX Fantasy RPG !!
Another thing is, your scope is way too much for what you're expecting. According to your linked thread (https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=43282), you have at least 60 scenarios planned around one enemy type alone. Assuming each scene is about 1500 words (aka, for 5 bucks) t...

Re: !! Writers Needed for Voln, an XXX Fantasy RPG !!
Wanting enough to live on =/= Doing it for the money You can find artists who love drawing concepts but it don't mean they're gunna do it for peanuts. Agreed. This a very specialized offer I'm making. I need someone who can afford to invest in this. Lord knows I've done my fair share of investment ...

Re: choosing scenes for CGs
My thoughts on CGs/illustrations are they represent some of the more striking parts of the game or moments that can't easily be represented through text and character sprites. CGs usually don't pop up often (unless it's a big budget VN) so when they do, it instantly draws the player's attention. So ...

Re: Harem or non-romantic true route?
I think a true ending, harem or on one person, can work but it definitely depends on the game. As a player, I generally dislike romantic games that have a true ending that revolves around one character, since it makes the other characters feel like filler and devalues their routes. Plus, it ends up ...

Re: Physical Copies of Your Games?
USBs can look nice if designed right but they seems to take more effort than it's worth compared to burning your own CDs. However, with more computers (Apple being one glaring case) going the no disk drive route, I don't think it hurts to think of alternative. One of the nicest designs for physical ...
