Re: Setting a publisher for a game
I take that back. I got one of those programs and it seems to have worked. Oddly enough, the warning message doesn't appear anymore. But the game still seems to be functioning, so that's good.

Re: Looking for some free voice packs
Honestly can't say I do, but if you go to sites like the Voice Acting Alliance, you can get VAs to record custom clips for you for free. I always think that original material, where it can be gained, is better than prepackaged assets. But your mileage may vary.

Re: Setting a publisher for a game
Hm. I'm going to assume, then, that I'm boned. I worry that any external program might screw with my Ren'Py code, and there's always the problem of unpacking and repacking a distro.

[Solved] Setting a publisher for a game
So, when I load my game, I get this: http://puu.sh/a7vZA/d7be48e800.png Now, I realize that there's nothing I can do about this. Obviously, being an independent video game developer (read: newb), I'm not going to be a "trusted" publisher. But is there any way to tell Windows to change &quo...

Re: Difficult Subjects in VNs
Of course it can happen. How successful it will be will depend on how it's handled.
I mean, if a children's cartoon can cover concepts such as social unrest and terrorism (Legend of Korra), why can't a VN cover difficult topics as well?

I'll be at A-Fest, as well. Should we have a meet-up, or dinner or something?

Re: Make Kinect novel for me
Next step: find an editor to clean up your English. You'll also need to acquire visual art (bgs, cgs, sprites, etc.), music, and sound effects. Once all that's together, THEN go for a Programmer. Make sure everything's together before you get your Programmer so (s)he can build your game without havi...

Re: [Adventure] The Time Stones
On July 15th a new demo will be released with fully completed images, several changes to the storyline and characters, and a second crowdfunding attempt to pay for what's left of the game. I'll post the link here, but there will also be a new thread in the "Beta Testing" section of the for...

Re: Make Kinect novel for me
I'm going to recommend you write out all the dialogue and events like stage actions. If you're looking for someone to code it for you, then you need to have as much done as possible, and make it as easy on the programmer as possible. My recommendation is you write your dialogue like this in Notepad ...

[Answered] Pop-up message box
I absolutely suck at searching the documentation for information. I never seem to find what I'm looking for. I want to create a box that pops up in the middle of the screen. Hopefully, I can customize it as I see fit, but basically, I want a message to pop up (preferably with a sound effect), and I ...

Re: Writing the "In-between Scenes" AKA Bridging Scenes
I'm all about characters when I write, so that's how this advice is going to be flavored: Put each of your characters in each of these scenes. Imagine how you want them to be. Ideally, with each scene, the character should be a little closer to how you want them to be at the end - the final developm...
