Re: Normal vs. text only visual novels

I think of them less as text visual novels and more as choose-your-own-adventure games, which started off with most its filling as words. Also, text is easier to make since anyone can write (some people can't write very well, but they can still make words into stories). And since one person could ma...

Re: Fairy Fly - [Family/Fantasy]

I'm really interested! I recently finished watching Over the Garden Wall, and this kinda reminded me of it. Mostly I like this idea since it seems like a short and sweet game, which I know I love.

Re: Item End Jam! 2016 (April 9 - May 31)

Do we have to announce that we'll be joining? x3 also, do animals count as items, or no?

I tried to subtly convey that Tetsuya was "drugged" when Brianna told him that she loved him, which explains his reactions and actions in that moment. I also tried to show that Tetsuya didn't truly want to leave (he said he called his parents, yet the scene before shows that his phone was...

Hey, that's great that you did this! I'm interested in the story, so I'll go play it right now. just little things, for one: "the sounds of the sitcom are" would read more easily as "the sound of the sitcom is" "He looks at the bright white screen, then curls a side of his l...

Re: Starlit Flowers [GxG] [Slice of Life | Fantasy] [NaNo16]

I agree with doktorcrimson - the romance felt kinda rushed for them. This was really sweet! I loved the fairy tale-esque feeling, and how Einar's story came together in pieces. The ending was unexpecting, which surprised me, because usually the whole split-up-girl thing is a cliché trope not done we...

Re: Centering dialogue?

It works! Thanks so much.

edit:
I'm sure it's an easy fix, but how could I make the second/third/etc line of this dialogue centered as well?

Re: Centering dialogue?

thanks, but 'centered' puts it in the middle of the screen. I should've made it more clear - what I want is in the middle of the textbox, in the center of a line.

Centering dialogue in text box?

I don't think there's a topic for this, so how do you center dialogue text in the text box?

Re: "Aaand Now I'm A Box" - [VN/Platformer] [THREAD UPDATE]

Sorry if it's simple, but how do I play the game after I download and extract it? Can I play it on a mac? Am I not supposed to extract it?

This is my situation. label room1: e "This is room 1." menu: e "Move on to room 2?" "I'd like to quickly visit room A.": jump roomA "Move on.": jump room2 label room2: e "This is room 2." menu: e "Move on to room 3?" "I'd like to quick...

Re: Imagemap bug

I took the advice and deleted the cache folder and it isn't working.
The thumbnail is working, though, so that's all great. Thanks!

I think I'm going to try messing around with the screens code again, but I don't think I'll have any luck.

Imagemap bug

http://s27.postimg.org/bvlzkad9b/screenshot0001.jpg I used an imagemap to desin a save/load menu, but a little part of the selected menu is still there when it's not selected. It's really weird, so I rechecked the coordinates. Nothing happened. Here's the code: #####################################...

Indenting problem?

I may be making the code too complicated for myself. But the problem is this: File "game/script.rpy", line 66: expected menuitem if wood >= 10: ^ this is the code that I think is relevant: (if I need anything else, I'll be sure to add it in.) label action_menu: menu: "Gather wood.&quo...
