Re: Protecting a Game in Progress: How?
I've worked for idea-stealers before, and you don't have to worry about them. They have their eyes glued on games that have sold incredibly well. If you publish a game that sells incredibly well, your idea WILL be copied many times, usually changed up enough to keep you from suing. If that happens, ...

Re: What Breaks Your Immersion?
Major time gaps really throw me off. A story that flows day-by-day, then suddenly jumps ahead a year or two, for example. Shifting between first-person and third-person perspective is a major offender, too- even more so than changing perspective to different characters.

Re: IMPORTANT - How do you like your Unlockables served?
It depends more on whether or not I'm having a good time, than anything else. Unlockables can push me reach parts that I'd normally avoid, though (like bad endings).

Get your hands dirty early and often. In document form, a plan for a game can't truly depict the experience. Once you have something that's playable, you can mold and refine it into something good.

If I were to use any characters made from Comipo comercially, I'd probably buy a copy of the program before publishing.

Re: Multiple Protagonists in Visual Novels. Thoughts?
Check out Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, AKA "When They Cry". At some points, the entire story is retold from the perspectives of different characters involved. There's no super-detective to figure everything out and expose it to you, so you have to solve the mystery by seeing it through diffe...

I don't think you've seen the worst of it. On daytime TV in Tokyo, I saw a show about magical girls that had to fight a CALENDAR MONSTER. I'm not joking. It was a big walking calendar with a lock on it. It kept the same day repeating over and over.

By most accounts, RPG Maker's good for building something along the lines of a classic JRPG. What do you want to make?

Re: Working with others: Are we going about it right?
From my own experiences with game studios, I feel that the ideal team is made up of a strong leader that really knows what he/she wants, backed up by a tight group of professional specialists. The project owner needs to be that leader, and money is usually needed to get the specialists. In practice,...

Re: Length of the game determines the price?
Assuming that the demo is of professional quality, and more importantly to my liking- I'd be willing to pay around double your numbers. Honestly, I don't really research length much before buying.
