Re: Creating likeable characters
Any character can be likable - even the villains. The key to making a likable character is to make them relatable - to make them seem like real people with real problems that you (the player/reader) can sympathize with. One "trick" you can also use is to make other characters in your story...

Re: </reality> [Sci-Fi][Fantasy][Philosophy] DEMO released!
Marketing for the Kickstarter has been distracting me from actual development - but what can you do. Making some progress on the game itself again today. Finally finished the supporting characters! New character sheet (the old version is a few posts above): https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-o2i3S91PaLk/WB5...

Re: What music to listen to while drawing?
If I listen to a new album that I've just discovered, I'm much more likely to "actively listen" to the album, which means that the music can actually be a distraction. However, if I'm listening to a favorite album or playlist that I've already heard dozens of times before, my brain antici...

Re: What music to listen to while drawing?
It's interesting to hear that others have issues with listening to music while drawing... for me, listening to music is pretty much the only way I can fully focus on making art. Maybe I just have concentration issues, but if I'm not listening to music, I might be able to draw for an hour or two befo...

Re: Full time developers
Full time game developer here! Though we (Fancy Fish Games) are currently making our first visual novel, we've made and released a whole bunch of other types of games (horror, RPG, interactive fiction, point and click, etc). We also do some freelancing type work (also game related) on the side to he...

Re: </reality> [Sci-Fi][Fantasy][Philosophy] DEMO released!

We are starting some prep for a kickstarter campaign, including this update to the character sheets. We'd love to hear what you think! Do these descriptions make you want to know mo...

Re: Sedatophobia [Mystery][Horror]
Hey Rossfellow, I just read through this thread, and now I'm very curious to know if this project is still in production? The concept/story premise sounds very promising, and the art throughout the thread looks great. Usually I don't play things labeled "horror" (I'm very easily scared/tra...

Re: Crime • Scene (Mystery, Horror, Thriller)
What do you expect from this game after reading this post? Hard to say, exactly - but I do expect some interesting mysteries and plot twists surrounding the reason for the tower of babels' existence and it's effects on this town. Do you like the concept idea? Does it sound interesting to you? Yes, ...

Hello there, Mirrowdothack! I just wanted to tell you that I stumbled across this game, and after playing through and getting all the endings, I am very impressed! The game was fascinating from beginning to end - I loved the story, the puzzles and trials, the plot twists, and also the sound design w...

☆ What do you think of the premise of the story thus far? Honestly, I think it's extremely vague. I don't know what "The Lost Children Behind Bars & Dream Festival" are. So, while the premise alone is somewhat intriguing in a mysterious "what does that mean?" kind of way, it ...

Re: Getting back on your feet.
I've been working in gamedev for quite a few years now, and I just want to confirm that yes, this is a very familiar feeling! As firecat and TheJerminator15 have already mentioned, the major key to getting through it is to "just do it." Peronally, I often literally need to tell myself &quo...
