These are definitely more medieval-inspired than they are magical girl-inspired. You might notice that there are some frills on their outfits, but they don't exactly mesh with the rest of the design, haha...

This sounds very elaborate. I'm excited to hear more about the setting--it sounds like a mash-up of two very disparate eras, and I'm interested in seeing how the story combines them. Also that background looks great! I bet this game is gonna look amazing.
