Re: Ethics of the diet

I think this is going nowhere. Both parties have exposed their views, and we have gone into the Godwin section already.
I think further posts will lead to meaningless flame wars once again.

Re: How long does a script usually take?

Heck. Some people manage to finish a script in a month, weeks even. It really depends on the story, the game materials at hand (CG, BGM, extra code) and one's devotion. And resistance, when two years worth of work get deleted because you didn't backup. (Yeah I'm still shocked) My working method isn'...

Re: Better editing of input fields

This thread makes me remind of the detective notepad of Kyle Hyde in Hotel Dusk room 215.
It wasn't text, but rather some sort of widget you could use to write onto to take notes.

Re: First person shooter

Hmm... I'm wondering about this now.
I think most of us have played or heard of games made by Illusion.
Would the jinkou game series be some sort of hybrid between VN and FPS?
Or a new genre by itself?

Re: Cannabis (Weed) Legality and Debate

There was a period of time when manufacturing, transporting, importing and exporting alcohol was a prohibited around the world (for diverse reasons). It was around 1900 to 1948 in several countries like Finland, Canada, USA and Russia. History says that in the end, prohibition was a huge failure, be...

Re: No refrigerator

In France, people used to have a cellar, where they hung meat after they used salt over them. In Paris, there used to be ice companies that sent tons of ice to restaurants and common people. But because of this, diseases were not that uncommon. You could also use caves, where the temperature is clos...

Re: Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2

I think the issue you're bringing here is about whether a game should be considered as a toybox or as a medium for a story. IF games had a clear tendency towards the second option and that's why it never really sold in western countries. And why most people who consider games as toyboxes hate most o...

Re: Are you a Weeaboo?

Maybe is it a first stage when you begin to discover about anime culture and subcultures. I remember, when I was in college, that there were lots of people just like that, who didn't understand Japanese but a few words. I remember that I used to be happy when I was watching subtitled episodes and re...

Re: recommended manga(formerly currently reading manga)

Discovered several titles of different genres. Well, they're not really new and some were published several years ago. Bonnouji (煩悩寺) from Aki☆Eda (Romance, Seinen): Ozawa has just broken up with her boyfriend of 5 years and her sadness is broken up when she suddenly meets with a strange guy named O...

Re: Do you add copy-protection to your game, and if yes how?

It's just strange. In my personal and particular case, I used to get "free" games on the internet, until I began to work and earn my own salary, that I spent into buying games I wouldn't even have thought of buying until then. It's not even a question of morality, it's just that because I ...

Re: My music tracks! Need some potatoes!

Wow. Amazing. These songs are pretty much at pro level. These works each have their own atmosphere, their own vibration. "When sun is shining" has an intimate feeling, and a good execution. What more could I say about it? "Raining Alone" is very immersive. The nostalgia, lonely f...

Re: Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2

I know about this game, even if I don't posess a PS3 myself (I even considered for a moment buying one just for this game haha). It has an air of Xenogears, Xenosaga and IS. And its story is great. It combines classic JRPG, monster battle, tactics... Well, in short it's a great game. Unfortunately i...

Re: Scifi story idea [hlp needed]

This is a very interesting concept, with a rather well-developped prologue. You have the required basics covered: a set universe, with its own problems, a main character (or a point of focus), the pre steps to a more complex story; with a hint towards evolution (based on the underdevelopped cannons,...
