Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
Quick painting to test out colouring from values. I felt like trying weird colours, I'll have to try more "normal" stuff later.

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
Practising different styles while keeping the same workflow, from more cartoony to more realistic and "painterly". Nice! that's really interesting to look at, actually. :3 Thanks a lot! It helped me to learn a lot of stuff. It's 30 minutes before New year here, but it's still time, so... ...

Re: Is music important in a game?
If you don't like having music on your VN, design it with silence in mind, and make it the way you like it. With that said, music is a big must for me, and I'd never play a VN with the music turned off (if I REALLY don't like it to the point of wanting it out, I'd probably stop reading the VN altoge...

Re: Udemy Course on Ren'Py
If you can give your own take on the subject, and a personal treatment, I don't see why not making it (and if you offer it for free, well damn! Nobody can complain!!). The wikis are good, but watching is usually more effective than reading plain text, and if you have experience on VN-related panels,...

Re: Derisive criticism of your work online...?
Well f**k, this post is gonna be harsher than usual. LeonDaydreamer asked, between other things, if there's any advice about how to answer to critiques... Speaking of horrible critisicim. This review turned up on Google Play [...] This is a huge How NOT to do it. As a consumer, if I see a comment li...

Re: Are you sceptical of games using pre-made assets?
Small clarification - premade does not mean "not paid for". Imagine that you're trying to get the rights to use a known pop song in your commercial game. You CAN make licensing arrangements to do that... and it's not going to be cheap! Now, of course, there are some assets that are comple...

Re: How to Avoid the Pitfalls of Stat-Raising Dating Sim
What you may want is to not make the stat-raising obvious, and work it more like a visual novel instead of a "typical" simdate. The first idea that comes to my mind is to not mention the stats that much ingame, and talking about it in a more in-universe way (Example: It doesn't feel the sa...

I personally love the atmosphere on these ones: Kara no Shoujo: https://vndb.org/v810 Coμ -Black Dragon in a Gentle Kingdom-: https://vndb.org/v1896 Remember11 -The Age of Infinity-: https://vndb.org/v13 About your questions... -Yeah, I'm more of a "less is more" approach to menus. But it ...

Re: Are you sceptical of games using pre-made assets?
Are you sceptical of games using pre-made assets? Yup, I am. A lot... if it IS a commercial product. As others have stated, that's asking for people to pay something the creator hasn't paid for. And that's not cool at all. Of course, this is influenced by how many of those assets are you using, and...

Re: Derisive criticism of your work online...?
Hehe, I know that feel about posting stuff and being scared :') My first fanfiction was written when I was 11 (I was lucky to be surrounded by patient, intelligent grown-ups, though). But well, getting to the point, they've already told you pretty much everything you may need to know about this: Not...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
I took a look at my "Warrior Queen" sprite, and I felt it had room for improvement, so... that's what I did! http://orig13.deviantart.net/91f1/f/2015/311/d/9/d9d74d287db38cab85a0cd59c39aa7f8-d9ftlbq.jpg I like how it turned out, and I'm glad to see I'm still improving, I've been feeling li...
