Re: Any plans for a larger Ren'Py training VN?
Hmm, concrete points. Well, choices that do minor things like change a single line of text, choices that do major things like splitting the story's path, changes in story path that happen both immediately after the choice and further down the line, divergent paths in wording or plot based on points,...

Re: Any plans for a larger Ren'Py training VN?
I think everyone is just hoping that someone else will step up and take charge of it. I'd do it but I've never finished a single VN so I don't think it'd be a good idea for me to be in charge. Still, someone should decide something. Okay, I personally think we should focus on getting out a really si...

Re: How to Work with Programmers
I'm around professional programmers all the time and I haven't heard that either. Maybe it has to do with where you live?

Re: What motivates you to make a VN?
What motivates you to make a VN? I make games I want to play so I'm motivated to finish so I can play it. I also like to show it to other people and have them tell me how awesome I am. How do you keep going until the end? Stubborness, mostly. I hate saying that I put a lot of work into something on...

Re: Website/Blog for Showcasing Various Visual Novel GUI
This is really awesome as is, but by any chance do you think there could be a way to compare specific elements between games? For example, if I wanted to compare how someone did a save screen or only look at dialogue boxes.

Re: What art direction do people prefer?
@Auro-Cyanide: Ah, it was calling it a discussion that set this off. I was wondering how my comment provoked such a strong reaction. Really the only point I was making is that is was going to be more interesting than yet another thread about which style will sell better. In those threads no one real...

Re: What art direction do people prefer?
Things don't have to be useful to be interesting and I think there are already some useful things being said when people explain why they do and don't like certain styles. It's not straightforward information but it doesn't really have to be. The type of discussion you're trying to spark would be in...

Re: What art direction do people prefer?
Hmm, a thread about preference and not about what style is best. This should be a much more interesting conversation. I like and appreciate all sorts of styles but favorites are a different thing altogether. For the actual drawing I prefer stuff that is appealing and has a high technical skill. So t...

Casseroles and crock pot meals are super easy. You just dump everything into a pot and cook them.

Re: Website/Blog for Showcasing Various Visual Novel GUI
This would be so cool! Finding GUI references is really hard, it'd be nice if I could just scroll through a site. I prefer you didn't use tumblr, I have the hardest time navigating it and I like comments. Sometimes they're the most informative part.

Re: What would you like to see in Visual Novel Portfolio?
If you feel comfortable with other styles showing a range of styles both in the basic structure and coloring it's a good idea to show what you can do. But don't post those styles if you don't feel comfortable doing them over the course of an entire game. It's okay to keep your portfolio pieces in th...

Re: Questions for artists //help
It sounds like you're putting more work in the conceptualizing side of things than you should and it's using up all the creative energy. When you're just messing around with ideas you don't have to do full sketches, you could do thumbnails or make a base and sketch on top of that so you're not redra...

Re: How Do You Outline Very Dark Skin?
I think the shading and highlight is going to be the best way to approach this. Lines can be a crutch.
