I'm a her, actually, but that's not the point. :)

In any case, I agree with RedSlash that it all boils down to opinion in the end. Simply put, if you like it, then great. If not, then just don't play it.

This just doesn't make sense to me. If I found something you wrote online and I decided to use it without permission as the text for a game I was drawing the art for, wouldn't you be upset? I don't think the average writer would accept 'oh, I can't write so well, so I borrowed your stuff' as a vali...

Hmm, since there's so much interest in AIKO, I guess I'd really like to know how creating characters in it is like. Do you have to do a lot of 3D modelling or is it more of a quick-n-easy thing like in The Sims 2? Because I really don't want to have to actually learn 3D modelling just so I can creat...

How the heck did you get such cute Sims? The best I've ever managed is 'not unattractive'. First of all, I'm not the one who made those sims; I posted screenshots from a site because the computer my Sims 2 game is on is spoilt. But anyway, the key is downloading GOOD custom content. The defaults (m...

Easy solution to graphics - The Sims 2?

The hardest part to making a ren'ai game for myself, and I suspect for many more like me who've absolutely no talent in art, is somehow coming up with backgrounds and character art good enough for a game. So I guess this idea is for those who don't mind more realistic-looking (as opposed to anime/ma...

I'm using version 8.0. Somehow, after I duplicate the 3 layers, the cutout and smart blur effects dont show up. No problems with gaussian blur though.

A question here: is it ok if I don't use layers but simply apply the cutout filter, smart blur and gaussian blur on the background layer? For some reason I cant seem to get layers to work correctly with my copy of Photoshop.

I'm definitely still around, sorry for the long hiatus - I was studying for and taking exams these past few weeks. sorry about that. in any case, for that school gate picture, i've removed the chimney, but i'm new to photoshop so i don't really have confidence in altering that particular picture too...

Yeah, sure, go ahead and use it. It'd be great too if you could point me to a few tutorials about gradients and airbrushing :) I'm not very familiar with Photoshop yet.

Actually, I forgot to brighten up the image. Is it better now? I just edited it. What you saw might have been the darker version.

Yes, yet another one, this time using a different technique:

How does this compare with the previous photos?

Edit : An indoor bg I attempted.

Yang Sei Fu : does this look better? http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/5610/237vr.jpg I know it needs a lot more work, but is there any improvement from before? Or should I just stick to outdoor backgrounds. Those seem to work better... Thanks! Edit : I added two more outdoor shots to the first pos...

I think I prefer a full-fledged website, but thanks for all the suggestions! I'll probably make the site when I get some free time. Meanwhile, I've decided to post updates in this thread (the first post). Yang Sei Fu : Yes, indoor backgrounds are far harder, possibly because the photo itself needs t...

Background up for grabs

Some of you here may remember the topics I made a while ago about filtering photos to make them more like backgrounds found in anime/dating sims. I've made a bit of progress since then, and here are some examples : http://img367.imageshack.us/img367/6188/02medium1vt.jpg http://img399.imageshack.us/i...
