Re: Lost Threads
Ok I tried to get it running, but nada. It seems different from the other Ren'Py builds. Are you sure it's the build? I seem to have all the files and the script and everything here so I tried running it using Ren'Py and I got a traceback with som errors. I hope this helps.

Re: building distributions on 6.2 under linux (ubuntu)
My bad, I hadn't read the fine print (subtext). I DL the latest version of Ren'Py and the three distros appear and Lint actually provides a text ouput, unlike the package that is distributed under ubuntu.

building distributions on 6.2 under linux (ubuntu)
Whenever I hit build distributions on Ren'Py 6.2.0c (the default package under ubuntu's repos) Lint starts to run and it tells me it will build distribution for the following platforms. The problem is no platforms appear listed. Is this a know bug, should I upgrade to a more recent version of Ren'Py?

Re: Ren'py Pygame demo
Do you want to share the code with the openGL version? I'm running ubuntu on my laptop and would be interested in testing the game out over the net. If I get hooked I might even start to create original artwork for a character. I've been dreaming of a open-sourced game like this for years now. Of co...

Re: Ren'py Pygame demo
Wow Tayruh, this is an awesome contribution! I've been looking for something like this independent of Ren'Py, but having it integrated in a VN is definitely impressive. I tried it out and played with it for a short while. I like the fact that the bg scrolls side to side and expands when the characte...

Re: Writing idealized characters / Writing as wish-fulfillment?
do many of the characters in the games we all write are the "ideal" person for us in the real world? is it better writing to based on actual experience -- so it shows that the author has knowledge of the subject matter. 1) Depends on what you mean by "ideal". I think the consens...

Re: Game review blog feedback
I never knew of this blog, but browsing it just now made me want to try out the games that are reviewed. It might be a good idea to link to the games in the reviews. This might increase the comments

Re: Shouldn't Ren'Py games get out of the Romantic Genre?
I haven't seen a category which fits the project I'm working on (which is probably a good sign). It will incorporate a good mix of mystery, sci-fi, historical and occult themes without excluding romance and a healthy dose of humor. After going through much of the games listed on the Ren'Py website, ...
