Re: What Do YOU Prefer When Playing a VN?

1) The Mulan issue was the scene where she hugged the emperor (WTF. SO MUCH WTF). It was in the behind-the-scenes and staff audio commentaries where I found out the "BUT SHE'S DIFFERENT AND THAT MAKES IT OK" was a thing that actually happened =_= That is really interesting, and I never th...

Re: What Do YOU Prefer When Playing a VN?

0. I've had a lot of fun discussing this with people so far as well. It's been so interesting seeing where everybody stands... Huh... Now that I think of it, I haven't given answers on this... Have I? Seeing the point of this was more meant to be a way for people to put their thoughts out there... ...

Re: What Do YOU Prefer When Playing a VN?

Ooh, this looks fun! I've liked reading everyone's responses so far. I feel like I agree with many of you who've already responded & raised some good points. 1. Do you prefer if the setting is in Japan or the West (America, Italy, UK, etc.)? I'd PREFER not to see generic Japanese high school set...

Re: It is needed to read some VNs before creating your own one?

There's no requirement or rule anywhere that says you have to have read multiple VNs before you create your own. But I think that would be a bit like trying to write a novel when you've only ever read one book. Or trying to shoot your own movie when you've only ever seen one film. If you're dead set...

Re: My First OC, Looking for honest feedback.

I love how expressive she is! You said you were going for cold, composed, mysterious, and you nailed it!! I feel like you can glean those things about her right away from her facial expression and her body language. The one thing I would advise being mindful of is her pose. At the moment, it seems a...

Re: Visual;Conference 2018 call for speakers is open

This is wonderful!! Thank you so much for taking the time to organize this & put everything together. I'm really looking forward to participating in next year's Visual;Conference and letting people know about it. I really like how the event is online and free at the moment - it makes it easy to ...

Re: What tools do you use to manage your project?

Everyone, thank you so much for your responses!! It is really cool to be able to get a glimpse into how everyone else works. With many of the folks on here, I usually just see the output & end results of all the hard labor & planning and it's amazing! I feel like it's easy to forget sometime...

What tools do you use to manage your project?

Just curious, how does everyone else manage their workflow & collaboration for the projects they are working on? I have used team chats such as google chat, slack, ryverr, and discord. I have also tried Trello and Asana, but I did not think either of those fit very well with how I like to organi...

Re: What should I do if the Artist I hired takes way too long?

Oh man, sorry to hear about how that all went down. As someone who does freelance work on the side on top of having a day job, I can sympathize with life happening and not being able to deliver on time. In the past I've struggled with depression & mental health, and gave away quite a lot of free...

Re: Share your sales/downloads stats!

I love this thread!! It's so interesting to see behind the scenes stats, figures, and sales from other VN creators. Here's my itch.io stats: https://i.imgur.com/Prjxadr.jpg The bulk of my earnings is from A Day in the Life of a Slice of Bread . It became more popular when a handful of let's players ...

He looks so professional and sleek!! It's inspiring to see how much you've improved him. Just curious: is this just for practice, or are you planning on using him for something?

Thank you for the feedback, Steamgirl~! I can't believe I missed the weirdness in the arms, I agree that they're a bit off, especially the right as you pointed out. I think I just stared at it for so long over time that I got used to it looking that way and it didn't register anymore ;_; I LOVE the ...

Steamgirl, thank you so much for the kind words & encouragement!! I actually really struggled with the coat. There were so many intricate folds and creases in my reference that I just loosely followed a reference rather than drive myself crazy with trying to be accurate xD https://i.imgur.com/w0...

Re: Sasquatchii's Art Thread (Critiques & Constructive Criticism Requested) [NSFW]

Thank you, Steamgirl!! I really appreciate your feedback & taking the time to show me the canvas flip trick! I used that for the drawing below and it really helped with the placement of the eyes (though it's not perfect): https://i.imgur.com/KEDvnl0.jpg Getting the eyes right seems to the tricki...
