IMO, Linux users are used to downloading a kajillion of dependancies. I think what you should do for Linux users is make them install rpm or deb package for the ren'py modules. I guess bilinear interpolation would help out in handheld platforms where the screen is small and as a result the graphics have to be scaled down.
