Erm, so do you just mean removing all instances of the word 'self'...? (Sorry, I'm bad enough at coding normally, let alone messing with default Ren'Py functions! :lol: ). I'm just slightly confused, as the function below that one (the quit function) actually does do what I'm looking for as it hides...

Quick question - I was just wondering whether it's possible to have the yesno_prompt replace the game menus when called? It used to do this by default with the old imagemap menus, but screen language keeps the game menus on screen and using 'tag menu' with the yesno_prompt doesn't seem to work (it r...

Sorry to bump an old topic / double post! Renaming the layer didn't seem to solve the problem, and I'm kind of at a loss (there don't seem to be any errant buttons, either)... Edit: Figured out what was causing it, hoho :B it seems that if text isn't set to appear immediately and contains a wait tag...

Huh, that's interesting to know (I never really noticed that when playing Japanese VNs! I need to be more observant, clearly ;) ). With English VNs, the convention seems to be that you don't use quotation marks when a character is speaking, and instead remove the main character's name from the text ...

Hmm, I've ctrl-F'd through the script and there don't seem to be any buttons on the master layer, though I did have a layer called 'frame' I added buttons to, which probably wasn't the best idea, so maybe that was causing it? I've renamed the layer, but when I was getting the errors I was using conf...

No problem (and thank you :D)! I'm looking through my imagemap code and I'm not really sure what would be returning what, but I did define the navigation buttons as part of the load / save (and preferences) imagemap, so I might have done something wrong there? (Just chiming in to say that I also had this problem when I switched my imagemap load / save menus over to screens with the screen menu converter - all of my screenshots were of the save menu. I don't have a solution though, sorry! )
