Re: Requiescence [BxB][Romance][Fantasy]

The look of the characters drew me to this, plus it's BL, 18+ and you mentioned nitrochiral (although I prefer the softer treatment in your VN to what nitrochiral can dish up). Really enjoyed the writing style - it was compact and concise. Lovely atmosphere created with the music. Didn't mind the vo...

I also recommend doing something small - maybe limit yourself before even writing it (1 sprite, 3 backgrounds, 10,000 words).

Re: "I would totally play your game if I had the time and mo

This may sound a little strange after I've argued so passionately for honest critique in favor of feel-good phrases, but I'm not really that fond of a Critique subforum. I think it would cause information on games to be split up between two different places, making them not exactly easier to find. ...

Re: "I would totally play your game if I had the time and mo

Maybe we need a 'critique' subforum although I'm not sure such a thing would get the participation required to make it worthwhile. After all it's hard enough just to get a comment on a WIP or completed game let alone a critique which is more difficult and time-consuming to write. Maybe something cou...

Morishita has some interesting points (though it's 2d art).

Uncle Mugen had a message on his Twitter account from 10 September 2016. "If you are messaging me regarding the use of free BG's then please feel free to use them. No permission necessary now." Uncle Mugen is quite ill and couldn't answer all the messages. 22 November 2106 - Yay - Uncle Mu...

Re: Why so many unfinished VN?

Hmm, I dropped a VN I spent a lot of time on (had done the writing, commissioned and paid for the sprites, painted 5 of the backgrounds, made a customized UI) because I felt the plot was lacking at the climax - (I was writing a branching VN but the climax was the same in each path and it just felt w...

Re: ⋘ Reflections on the River ⋙ • [Fantasy][Friendship][NaN

I enjoyed this very much. Loved the art, sprites, CGs and backgrounds. It has a lovely GUI I thought it was very well written (it clicks along nicely without getting too verbose). Nice length for me too (I don't really have time to play something that takes 10hrs to complete). I was wondering all th...

Re: How to promote your game?

@Lesleigh63 I've never heard about working under a studio. While the advantages of this sound logical, what do they expect in return? The game I'm working on is non-commercial. I don't expect studios to take projects that don't gain them profits. If they're putting out one (maybe two) projects a ye...

Re: Any Tips for Improving Your VN Writing?

Getting critiqued is helpful (but you do need to be ready to hear the negative comments). Understanding basic plot structures/types is also helpful (although they tend to be for kinetic writing, add branching and things can get a little difficult). So there's basic plot structures for romance writin...
