Re: Tying Threads
The third ending depends on the last two questions in the game. Think "Independence", and you should be able to answer both correctly

How do you change all fonts after startup?
I'm working on a Vietnamese translation of my game. I would like to provide both English and Vietnamese in the same game, allowing the user to switch back and forth from the menu. This wouldn't be a problem if I used a font that supported both languages. However, my English font is an sfont, and thu...

Re: Is a Harvest Moon-like romance system implementable?
Not sure it's still up to date, but I did write a tutorial a long time ago which rio has kindly hosted for me-

joystick config sfont crash
monele kindly pointed out that my game, "Tying Threads", crashes when trying to configure a joystick. Here's a copy of the output I'm sorry, but an exception occured while executing your Ren'Py script. Exception: Could not find font: ('subfont', 18, False, False, False) While running game ...

Awesome. It was short, but I found it very amusing.

Re: Ripples
Nice little piece. The voice acting was pretty good too- though it did sound a bit like you were holding back, like you were cautious of blowing into the microphone- if so, think about getting a pop filter (or making your own). I think some lines could've been slowed down too. Some voice acting for ...

Re: EVEning Course (the LSF@5 game)
Gyaahh! If I had known the language was a real language, I would've spent more time trying to actually learn it! I saw the game at the archives, and just downloaded it directly from there. Since you always place your games in a fictional world, I thought you were using a fictional language... T_T . ...

Re: Tying Threads
I just played this last night and was very satisfied ^^ The art is very well done (yay snowshine!) and the writing was solid, too (yay SJ!) The story seemed to come from the heart. The music flowed very well, and Cheryl's song was just so appropriate, like a little glimmer of hope :D I didn't quite...

Re: Tying Threads
Oh yeah, also wanted to add that I really liked the crying effect :) It looked very good Thanks- I spent a bit of time on that affect, as I felt it was very important. Given Ren'Py's framework though, it was actually quite easy. And drawing the tears wasn't all that hard- as they are mostly just bl...

Re: Tying Threads
Actually I don't mind that people can actually make a bittersweet and sad story like this without one of the characters dying, or maybe having a terminal disease :P Yeah, I tried to keep everything simple and real. No cheap tricks aimed only at gaining sympathy. Well, there was one thing which I ha...

Re: Tying Threads
...it really makes me wonder if you've gone through the same thing, how perfectly you can write it. I did pull from a few personal experiences when righting this game. Put simply, Allen is an exaggeration of all the loneliness and depression that I felt growing up. There were times in my life where...

Re: Tying Threads
That's not the kind of happy ending I meant. What I meant was them hugging or anything like that. Of course she had to go. It just would've been happier if he hadn't just walked away from her. That's what I meant. The way Allen reacted was very cold, don't you agree, especially considering how she ...

Re: Tying Threads
I have to say I enjoy this small masterpiece. My only gripe might be Cheryl's somewhat displaced mouth, but I had seen worse. Congratulations on your first release. Masterpiece? Surely, you flatter me ^_^;;; About the mouth... I should've mentioned this in the beginning- If anything bothers you abo...
