Re: Death Rule:TFR [Thriller/Battle Royal]
A visual novel about a battle royale? Awesome. I get a bit of a Hunger Games feeling when reading the first post, but that is a very good thing (a good series to be linked to imo). Very nice GUI too. Hmm...I haven't read the guide because I'm not sure how spoilerish it is (also, I feel like it'll ma...

Re: The Childhood Nightmare [Supernatural/Horror][Updated 3/
Man...fantastic idea. I haven't read many visual novels that focus on horror lately and there is a definite need for more good horror/supernatural visual novels. Even though you only have the logo and interface up, it looks amazing. I haven't read the flow chart (don't want to spoil this one :)), bu...

Re: X-NOTE
I know this is an old thread, but I just updated my old version of this game to the 2.0 version of X-note :) The cover was very pretty (so shiny ^-^) and I can't imagine how much hard work it took to code a new save/load system. I was laughing hysterically at the new extras you added in the gallery....

Re: What's better: extra art/CGs, voiceovers, theme song?
Personally, I'd like extra art/CGs, but a very close second would be theme song. Voice overs for games are just too expensive and difficult to pull off. A lot of people hammer english voicing regardless of how well it's done (look at Shira Oka or even Bionic Heart). A lot of people prefer the Japane...

Re: Always Remember Me (VN/Life sim, commercial)
No, I didn't like Twilight. I couldn't get past the first ten pages of that nonsense. If you want to go into books, I've enjoyed Harry Potter, the Hunger Games, and the Game of Thrones (but that's a bit off topic). If it really matters that much (although I'd like to think everyone's opinion is vali...

Re: Always Remember Me (VN/Life sim, commercial)
I happen to really like the writing in Winter Wolves visual novels. Even the earlier ones where I could tell the writer was not a native English speaker. It had nothing to do with my expectations being lower due to the genre, but because the story line was very compelling. Best example would be Bion...

Re: Hope~ Symphony of Tomorrow[BxG][Romance,Comedy,Drama]
Very nice update Of course, I love the art. I also think the hints of humor I see are really promising and I'm eagerly anticipating this visual novel. By any chance, do you have an estimated release date?

Re: A sister site for Fuwanovel.com based around VN Creation
Eh...all the forums around visual novels I've frequented (that only read JP VNs) are fairly harsh (to put it mildly) on OLEVNs. I can easily imagine a huge backlash. Unless there's a huge filter option (in which people would surely complain about being over-monitored) or a careful selection of the b...

Re: The Second Reproduction
Thanks for the walkthrough. It was a really well done visual novel, I'm surprised and saddened to hear such a talented group stopped making them. Have to admit that the demon king route was the best (imo). Surprising considering how much I wanted the knight to be the standout.

Re: VNs slowly gaining Western popularity?
I agree that some lives are affected, but I'm really thinking about the majority and for the long term. I used to love reading light novels and there are a few that I'll look at with fondness, but my lifestyle and habits have changed. I think a lot of people feel that way (as illustrated by the peop...

Re: VNs slowly gaining Western popularity?
On what basis can you safely say that Harry Potter didn't bring people to reading fiction? It's very natural to explore more about something you liked (genre, medium, author...), so you can maybe have the same experience again. The most mainstream VNs have these effects, just not the way we might e...

Re: Troubleshooter Tales: Out of the Friend Zone
I'm glad to see it being updated (the sprite size and background really did break immersion for me as well) and I think it is impressive to have finish a VN in a day. However, I think a lot of potential was missed by rushing this VN in terms of story/choices. One example being when the main characte...

Re: Street Girl
There was problem with the download link, so I can understand people having difficulty at first reading it. But now that it has been fixed, there's no point in derailing a thread about a visual novel when the commenter hasn't read the visual novel. It is easy to make assumptions based on the first p...

Re: VNs slowly gaining Western popularity?
I think people here ignore the strong bias against anime/manga art, but it really exists (for a lot of gamers, casual and hardcore). That alone is enough to make a casual gamer/hardcore gamer pass on many occasions (I've seen this in real life and in forums so many times that I won't bother recommen...

Re: VNs slowly gaining Western popularity?
Ah...but those authors are brilliant writers. I mean, excluding Twilight of course. I happen to love reading and enjoy visual novels a lot. But there are quite a few visual novels where I've heavily relied on the fast forward button (I can actually remember one where I pressed down for a majority of...
