Re: Looking for partner in crime (consultant, writing and ar

I totally agree with elenakiara. While they can get annoying, people feel comfortable with what the cliches they know and love. It helps when there's sparkly vampires in there too. And Snow Blossom, thank you so much for offering but right now I'm all good. The little demo I have now is pretty...

Re: Looking for partner in crime (consultant, writing and ar

I'm pretty sure those videos were made as a joke. Sometimes cliches aren't such a bad thing. And about the game... do you mean Akira? I liked that game, but what I'm doing isn't like that. I understand wanting to do something different, but for my first game I want to have some cliches (it's not lik...

Re: Looking for partner in crime (consultant, writing and ar

Well most of the cliches apply to a VN with a guy as a main character. But.. thanks anyway? It was kind of funny to watch.

Re: Studying or Gaming?

When I was in school I wasn't what you'd call a good student. I had good grades in stuff I was naturally good at, and bad grades in others, like math. So it's pretty obvious which one I chose. Now that I'm a college student, my policy is: play all year and study before the exams. :D I can't say I re...

Re: Looking for partner in crime (consultant, writing and ar

Thank you so much for responding! Since yesterday I've been cleaning up the game. The thought of someone else seeing it has made me doubt everything. I spent all of last night redoing the menus (at least those will look pretty ^^") I'll get it ready and send each of you a link to downoad it and...

Looking for partner in crime (consultant, writing and art)

So I'm looking for a partner for my GxB game (sorry for the misleading title lol), someone to keep me in check and someone whom I can ask for an honest opinion. Stuff like: Is X's arm too long? Does the GUI look good? Is the music fitting? Are there spelling/grammar mistakes (English == second langu...

Re: Sketchup BG critique needed

Alera thank you for pointing that out. I wanted to do something about that texture but I forgot. I made the texture bigger to stop it from looking so... patterny :P and I will sharpen it a little.

Uncle Mugen  I will try out your method right now!

Sketchup BG critique needed

I made my first background for my game, Last Summer. Originally I wanted to use modified pictures but yesterday I decided to try Google Sketchup and I loved it. It's true, it took me almost the whole day to make just one background. I used a trial renderer to make the picture but I only have it for ...

Re: RockRobin - Band Manager (New Demo)

I played the demo yesterday and I loved it. I liked it from the very begining, it's very complex and very well made. I kept telling myself it's just a demo, so that I wouldn't be suprised when it ends, but I still was. I totally thought that after the auditions the demo would end because it ma...

Re: plot question

Actually I was thinking of names and the name Devlin popped up in my head. I didn't want to go with a totally made up name so I searched facebook and there are indeed people with that name (like I said as a surname but nowadays anything goes right? :P ). That being said, I can't belive I didn't thin...

Re: plot question

Thanks everyone for your answers. I think I'm going to finish it after all. After thinking about this story for so long, the characters kind of grew on me. But I'll try to make it as exciting as possible and keep the cliches to a minimum. Greeny, I agree with the first point, it is cliche but if he ...

plot question

Hi guys. I just joined the forums. The main reason was to ask for advice about my VN. My mistake was not plotting things out before I started coding. I was so excited I have already done a bit of everything, sketches for sprites (I may be looking for some help here.), some music, some backgrounds (p...
