Re: How is your project going (or not going)?

Only got rough outline and a few sketches done, not enough to warrant a WIP thread just yet. Work is keeping me busy and steam sale just had to happen

Re: Favourite Final Fantasy?

what are people's feelings? http://i.imgur.com//zdxJXT7.jpg Do you even have to ask? lol I want them to keep the turn-based gameplay. Many gamers nowadays, especially the younger ones, would probably prefer action-based gameplay. I'd love to have multiple battle systems. I imagine the final battle ...

Re: A retelling of the Frog Prince

Just finished my playthrough and here's my feedback. Music and Sound: I think the music selection was nice. Although I admit I thought "this music again?" when I heard Kevin MacLeod's music. But overall, the selection fit the tone of the story. I especially liked the 'bonding' music. I lik...

Re: How to make an art book for your game?

The length of the art book really depends on the amount of content you have. jRPG artbooks like for the Final Fantasy series are at least 100 pages long, but that's because those games are set in massive worlds, so there are a lot of things to cover: environments, characters living in those environm...

Re: Cool art program for faster work... "Lazy Nezumi"

Thanks for the heads up, my lines in Photoshop end up shaky too. But I totally missed these cool features, I thought it was just a line smoothing plugin! Will definitely be experimenting with it for sure. Also related, I recently discovered a similar perspective tool in Krita called the 'ruler assis...

Re: Foreign Languages

Really? I wouldn't have though you weren't English if I didn't know, your written English and understanding is fantastic! Thanks, but that's just because I try to proofread whatever I write and read the texts at least 2 times haha. It takes me some time to translate what I want to say to English. M...

Re: Foreign Languages

Tagalog (5/5): It is our national language. Ilokano (4.5/5): My mother tongue. Apparently has many words I didn't come across growing up. English (3/5): Can read and write. Can speak it too, slowly with a terrible accent. I am fascinated with it and I'm trying to be good at it. Japanese (1/5): I di...

Re: The issue of leaning left: Tips and Tricks?

Aside from regularly flipping the image, you can also draw a straight line that divide the character into half and make it straight. Kinda hard to explain in text so please see the attached file, click to enlarge. Obviously this only works with front view images, so make flipping the image a habit. ...

Re: Drew's Improvement Process [Critique More Than Welcome]

Hi Drew, Nice to see you practicing. I notice that there's no definite direction you're going for? It seems you're going for realistic proportions and features but you're also mixing the stylized anime eyes. There's nothing wrong with this, but I encourage you to study the realistic proportions firs...

Re: Help: Backgrounds/Landscapes!

To add to Tempus' excellent advice, have many 'inspirations'. This could be an artist that does composition really well, or someone who really nails the color, etc. Study their art. Try to break their art down (why did this composition work, why do these colors work together, etc). In short, learn f...

Re: Best Anime Ever Watched?

I wouldn't say there's a best, but here's some that I really enjoyed. K-On - feels so light and fluffy, very comfy watch. Reminds me of the summer after high school and college, and the bittersweet realization that you have to move on with life Full Metal Panic - especially loved Fumoffu, hilarious ...

Re: Huge scope for first project

It's great that it's working out for you OP! I don't think I can handle creating something for that long. I have a certain 'time limit' to try and make things work or give up and move on to something else. Like in the first month I should have some sketches done. Or, in the first 3 months, I should ...

Re: Target: Valentino [RPG][CrimeFighting][NaNo2015]

hope the grind wasn't that bad! It wasn't too bad for a game of this length, since you're learning the play mechanics and seeing new enemies at a relatively steady rate. Part of it may have been me forgetting to save! In any case, if you ever did something longer, it sounds like you have some inter...
