Re: Soul and Heart: Replay [Mystery & Dystopia] - DEMO 0.5

This game looks really good, and I love the artwork!!!

Is it a GxG game? I'm just a little confused since all the characters seem to be female, and there are multiple endings, but you didn't mention if there's any romance involved or if it's purely investigative.

Re: That Cheap and Sacred Thing - Drama/Sci-fi

Just wanted to make a comment that the guy with the red hair (I haven't gotten very far in the game yet) looks JUST like my neighbor!!! >___________<
You've even got the smile and the pose right! =D

Re: Asher [Suspense/Supernatural][Download]

I find the plot to be somewhat "meh", simply because the whole treasure-hunting supernatural-beast-catching thing kinda comes out of nowhere. Otherwise, however, I really, really like the 1920s vibe for the game. You did a really great job with details! What intrigues me the most (and the ...

Re: What do you think of individual character stories for ot

@Googaboga: Oh, we're not worried about the prologue; it's coming along fine. We're still in the beginning stages of game development/production, and things seem to be going well for now. I think the beta-testing thing is a great idea, thanks for recommending it! =D Ah, now I understand what daikira...

Re: What do you think of individual character stories for ot

Hey daikiraikimi, thanks for the post! =) The problem we're having with giving out free routes is that our game only has 3 pursuable characters. If we give one for free, that's 1/3 of our game given away. =( We're trying to make up for this by giving a long prologue (consisting of 5000+ words). Sinc...

Or when you're partially finished, you can release a demo for beta-testing, and the testers can help you define the genre once they've played it. =)

Re: First Person vs Third Person

Either perspective is fine to me, but it all comes down to what the story is about. For your game, you specifically said that it is about a child in slavery, and the child does not grasp onto certain concepts the way adults do. In that case, I would advise you to make the game in first person perspe...

Re: Making a horror VN that's actually scary?

[*]You can make the sudden jump screens scary by having quiet music in the background, and then sudden loud (I'm thinking like dramatic organ music) music to accompany the in-your-face creep out moment. [*]Additionally, you can make scenes eerie or creepy by limiting characters. As humans, we natura...

Re: VN based on real life stories?

In a lot of VNs, there are almost always certain characters whose stories we are familiar with. When games are made, creators unconsciously (or purposely) make the characters in a way that we can connect with them. In romance games, for example, many of us have had feelings of rejection, so if the c...

Re: Tips on making a visual novel team in REAL LIFE?

Length-wise, it kinda depends on how long your story is, how many people are working on it, and how much effort is being put into polishing the final product. If you're with a team, and your project is small, you could easily get it done in about 1 month or so. If you're by yourself and your project...

Re: Cancer [Otome|Psychological|Drama|Commercial] + Survey!

Oh, the movie of "Flowers for Algernon" sucks. xD It takes the first couple of chapters from the book, and expands it out to fit the length of the movie. That stuff is only about 1/3 or 1/4 of the actual events in the book. In fact, the lady in the movie isn't even the lady the guy is roma...

Re: Cancer [Otome|Psychological|Drama|Commercial] + Survey!

Hey! I found your post here on the discussion board, and since you've contributed so much to my thread, I thought it's only fair for me to contribute to yours. =) 1. I think romance is fine in this genre. It reminds me of a book we had to read in school, "Flowers for Algernon". The main ch...
