Re: Text Adventuring

"How do I make a text adventure like Trinity or a Mind Forever Voyaging or Galatea or The Space Under the Window or Aisle ONLY by using Ren'Py?" and my reply was going to be "Good question, I'm still working on that but I'm pretty sure it involves NVL mode and lots of imagemaps where...

Text Adventuring

So I wonder if people here have ever played those good old text adventure games? I was browsing through my old files to clean it up, and I just discovered TAS again and the many projects I've got that're left unfinished. It was quite a good part of my youth, haha! Additionally, I was wondering if, p...

Re: Nice Day:again

:-) I'm just happy someone wanted to do the arts already, Kuroneko.

As far as the composer goes, he never saw the art, but worked off of what was written. I, too, think he is a very amazing composer, and I am very fortunate to have been able to get his help.

Thanks for the comments!

Re: Need Opinions on Stories

Most of these are just concepts rather than stories - the plot is really just your schemed plan on how the stories flows forth from cause to effect, much like mathematical equations. Rather than present a number of ideas to people you've hardly even met, it's a better idea to consult yourself. What ...

Re: Last Day at School

Wright1000, the implication dott.Piergiorgio provided was that you said there "are no GOOD ENDINGS", with the summary stating nothing but "a graduate on his last day of school" - it gave the impression that the only thing awaiting a student on the last day of school were bad endi...

Re: Game recommendations for beginners

I'd consider this a good, free read. It explores a theme, has good music and gives an example of how an amateur novel can look like. Of course, if you're more into the romance type, you could take a look at this tale . Both are kinetic novels, but as far as I care they are excellent examples of thei...

Re: VNs with more story?

Since olden times, a story has always been about someone or a group of someones being in one situation, then overcoming hardships to get to another situation, either voluntarily or by force. Naturally, I prefer anything I read to actually have a semblance of story: reading just to click a few times ...

Re: Share your attitude/characterisitic :)

I am, apparently, an advocating inventor.

As for how I see myself, I like to think I am a nice person, but I won't be too shattered if people think the opposite. I don't tend to trust people, so the test is accurate in that regard, but I am a bit sad I seem to act mostly opposite my gender? :(

Re: Artist looking for project

I think it would be a great help to yourself if you provided an example of your work, so people know what kind of stuff you are most familiar with.

Re: asking for advices/survey

The questions you should be asking is, "Do I think this should be in my game?", and the one you should be asking is yourself. Unless you're selling this for profit, it should be a fun pastime to you, and you will have the most fun writing something you would personally enjoy and are passio...

Re: I can give Grammar Correction and other help

To be fair, "to be good in" isn't necessarily bad form per se, although it is more common to use the phrase "good at" when indicating you are good at doing a specific something. I would be more concerned with "do not judge a book by it's cover", which when dissected wou...

Re: Writing partner wanted :)

lilyalex,

I have just reviewed the document you posted. What is the exact scope of work you expect a writing partner to provide? Is it limited to providing more lines for segments, or is there additional work you would like to do on your script?

Re: Writing partner wanted :)

With no promise of assistance, is it possible to receive a sample of the writing to understand what we would be working with?

Re: Nice Day:again

Not a bad game. But I do not understand why you took so many months to make it. I can complete a small game like this in 5 or 6 hours if I get the necessary art and music. "if I get the necessary art and music". It is those two that took a while to acquire. It wasn't easy to find an artis...

Hello!

I fixed the link for the "everything else" version. My goof! :)
