Re: Strong Characters?

TBH I think that the strongest people are the ones who don't let such petty constraints as gender, race, sexual orientation, class, inclination towards creative or technical fields, or identification with subculture/musical genre stop them from being true to themselves and their aspirations. Anyone ...

Re: Dual-Chain Rhapsody[Dark-Fantasy/War/Romance][Update]

If there's one thing I've always wanted to see more of from the OELVN scene, it's ambitious plot-focused fantasy VNs with tons of fight scenes and stat-spazzing. Thus far this seems to be fitting the bill. I'm willing to volunteer my services for proofreading or whatever else you might need that's w...

Re: Strong Characters?

What makes a strong female lead is exactly the same thing that makes a strong male lead: they act rather than react. And in order to do that, they probably need some small incentive they're working towards. I mean, it's all well and good to have a reactive character, but they'd better have some ente...

Re: When drawing, do you use guidelines?

When I was very young and starting out, I did not use guidelines, but winged everything. That was a mistake. In fact, the more guidelines you use the more proportionate and symmetrical your drawings will look. I used to use basically none for the face/head, but now that I draw more structured guidel...

delinquenthigh.jpg Welcome to Delinquent High, where your teachers and faculty are all alumnae, no one is expected to learn anything in class, the school festival is always held on the roof, the 'school festival' is really a slugfest with the bosses of all the other schools, hair is required to be ...

This is from the Musket School Of Wing-It Coloring For People Who Are Depress And Can't Color So Gud.

Every once in a while I have to remind myself that if I wanted to, I could draw the generic Platonic ideal of a schoolgirl.

Re: Where are the BxGs?

What DaFool said. I'm planning to make pretty much every genre but K-ON!, so, uh. Hell, the only reason I even picked up KS was because I'd been following that thing since Act 1's demo came out and the writing wasn't obnoxiously "HEY THIS IS ANIME JAPAN DESU". If there's a Japanese high sc...

Re: The Edge of Magic (Modern fantasy)

I for one prefer seeing the protagonist on-screen for almost any story, with few exceptions. It makes you feel like they're more of an actual character and not just a disembodied voice.

Re: Your (ideal) cover art

I think that now that you've mentioned it, if I ever made cover art for FA:NG it would have to have the gang walking away from an explosion for no apparent reason. Maybe dressed in suits. Maybe in leather jackets with dogtags and sunglasses. But really, I like my cover art bold with some iconic use ...

Part 2 of crossover, will edit in illustration later. Exactly 1000 words! "I told you, that's not what I-" "Yeah, I know." "Then why did you-" Mike flashed him an impish grin. "So you'd make that face." Against his better judgment and willpower, Matt blushed f...

Re: Where are the BxGs?

I'll be honest, I'm at least mildly annoyed that I'm going to have to come up with a new OP for a new WIP thread once I'm in the final stages of development in my game. :P At the same time, my WIP thread is not nearly a polished enough product for me to request moving to the WIP forum proper, despit...

Re: Where are the BxGs?

I think that a 'like' button to substitute for "OMG so squee" would be good, yeah. That would also have the nice side effect of not needlessly bumping threads/their word counts. And again, a lot of the shift really is due to the combination of the market and the audience. There are a ton m...

Re: What are your favourite VN Characters?

Screw Archer, Lancer and UBW/HF Shirou from FSN is where it's at (and Ilya and Kotomine). I also like Rosa from Umineko as a character, if not at all as a person, Junko from Dangan Ronpa, and if it counts, Sissel and Missile from Ghost Trick. As far as non-Japanese games go, I'm partial to the Minas...

Aedin: I have silent fans too? Awesome! If you think Mike is a badass now, just wait until you get to the full game. Whatever her faults may be, indecisive/ineffectually flailing otome heroine she is not. And, I may indeed end up making some shirts. Applegate: I only just posted like yesterday you s...

This protagonist has one of the best female protagonist designs I've seen since RockRobin, I approve. Will definitely play the demo.
