Re: Regarding "The Controversy"
I am going to take a step out of my comfort zone and ask a serious question. I think though that being a jerk, especially for homophobic reasons(...), should be something where the mods step in regardless. Why homophobic reasons specifically? Heterophobia is just as damaging as homophobia, just lik...

Re: Regarding "The Controversy"
I want to be assured this isn't going to happen again. I think some reasonable and good people were chased out who were only stan...

Re: Regarding "The Controversy"
Yeah, sadly, that's a very complicated thing to work out. Ethics aren't easy, which is why I'm generally opposed to both very absolutist ethics and more relativist ethics.

Re: Regarding "The Controversy"
I've just joined the forums, but I was browsing through old stuff and came across this, as well as some blogs about it. I'm very worried as a rather vulnerable person. I want to make VNs, I want to get involved but I've had such bad experiences on forums up until now and I don't want some absurdist ...

Prototyping a VN in Flash?
Basically, I got an extension for the summer to finish a college project, and I wanted to do a VN for my Flash Project. OF course, I won't get time to do much, and I'll want to dump all the content into Ren'Py to make a bigger, better version at some stage. Are there any frameworks for making VNs in...

Re: That Cheap and Sacred Thing - Drama/Sci-fi
It was cute, but I'd like to see a lot of these ideas fleshed out for a much longer sequel...
I liked that I thought Jude was going to be a robot. Even towards the end, I thought "lol nope. Cyborg with a minidisc drive."

Re: Using dolls as 'sprites' ?
You could try tracing over in Flash. Flash provides a wonderful interface for people who basically can't draw. Of course, that means it looks obvious it was done in Flash... you need to be good at it to do something interesting. Kind of a double edges sword. Srsly thinking of doing a Touhou VN like ...

OELVN recommendations?
There are a lot out there. I really enjoyed Katawa Shoujo and Christine Love's stuff. What else might I like? I normally like more sci-fi/fantasy type stuff but for shorter stuff I really like "high concept" slice of life stuff if you get what I mean. If there are longer english VNs, then ...
