You'll have to upload your image somewhere online, like an image hosting site such as Photobucket for example. Then you copy the image's url (right click, copy image location) and paste that in-between the Img brackets.

Code: Select all

Brackets;
[img][/img]

With Image Link;

Image;

Images have to be 800 pixels wide or smaller to be shown directly in a thread, so you might have to scale images down in some cases.

I wanted to know if there's some kind of a guide for the tags in game?

I wanted to browse and maybe post a dev-blog of our NaNoReNo project, but games were leveled with GxG BxI and that kind of tags. I understand historical, scifi, adult, etc. but the more specific? ones elude me. Girl on Girl? Maybe?

If there's a simple guide for this, I would love to see it!

Also, hello. :)

You've actually replied your own question ;)
Girl on Girl is GxG, the "x" indicates "pursues", "G" stands for Girls, and "B" for Boys. So Girl Pursues Boys would be GxB, etc. Other pairing tags would be:
- Otome: GxB
- Yuri/GL/shoujo ai: GxG
- Yaoi/BL/shounen ai: BxB
- Bishoujo: generally BxG
Those are terms from the Japanese, indicating the heavy influence in the games. So yeah. Aim for that specific tags your game is marketed as. :D

Great! I knew it has to be something around those lines, but I wanted to be super sure! ;)

Thank you so much.

Hi!

I'm creating a visual novel with some mature content, but nothing pornographic (probably like k-16) and I would like to make a "making of" type thread where I can post information and progress on the project. Where should I post the thread? The "Adult game in progress" section didn't seem like it fits my game and then again I couldn't find a section like that for non-adult games.

Thanks!

Games with mature content can be posted in the regular Work In Progress section as long as no mature content is posted in the thread itself. c: When it comes to gore, if it's excessively violent it may be deemed "Adult," but for the most part if it's just a little bloody there isn't a problem posting it in the regular section.

Hi! I recently created an account for the forums to help gain some motivation for making VNs.
I want to post my idea to the "Ideas" subforum, but the problem is most topics in that section seem to be mostly solo projects.
See, I also want to post to the "Recruitments" subforum so I can, well, recruit people for my project.

So my question is: should I make two separate topics and link them together (ex. "go to this link for the recruitment page") or should I make a single topic on one of the two subforums?

Also, if the latter is the best option, will my topic be moved to "Works in Progress" if my team eventually produces a demo?

It depends on how far along your idea is, so to speak. If you have just begun to work on it, then it may be prudent to continually update a thread in the idea section until it's fully fleshed out. I say this because recruitment threads aren't typically accepted unless your idea is thought out enough that it's justified to recruit people. For example, my project was begun last year but was nowhere near fleshed out enough for me to even consider recruiting, and now I'm working on creating enough of the story's first draft so that when I do begin recruitment we can immediately jump into just creating the game.

I'd personally suggest first generating interest in the idea through the Ideas forum, unless you have enough of the necessary info already set in stone that it's fine for you to begin recruitment. If not, then definitely post in the Ideas section first. Also, I believe that you could easily ask a moderator such a Taleweaver to move your idea thread to WiP once it is in active development.

Thank you for responding! I think I'll stick with the Ideas section for now, but obviously I'll flesh my idea out first :P

Sorry for posting twice, but I have another question: I plan to make a fangame based on a television show made by NBC. Because it is such a mainstream property, will I be at risk for a takedown or C&D?
I know this forum has no problem with fangames, but since the terms seem to be a bit vague - and I've yet to see an actual fangame on here - I'm just a bit unsure on the whole matter.

Do a forum search for "fan game" and you will find some discussion on that topic. Some examples:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=37376
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=28627
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=18849
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5367
Of course if the copyright owner complains, your game will be removed from the forum.

Personally, I'd send an email to NBC
http://www.nbc.com/contact/general
Nobody here can give you an answer beyond "We are fine with it, but NBC may not be"

Also, NBC is only the broadcaster, ie; they have distribution rights, not copyrights. You'll have to find out:
Who owns the copyright
Who owns the IP

Also, remember that music and even dialogue is subject to copyright, so if you plan on using those its a good idea to check with whoever owns those as well (they may not all come under the same owner)

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but in the PM system, what's the difference between the outbox and sent messages folders?

Messages go int the outbox until the recipient reads them, then they go into sent. I think.

I do have a question, in every post I see, there's always white redacted comments. I assume it's spoilers, correct? Is there any way I can fix it so I can see the full comments? Thank you! If this isn't the right place to ask, sorry.
