An alien with sketchy morals wants her boyfriend to love her.
A human boy schemes to get his parents back from death.
A mutant tries to figure out where her heart lies with her childhood friend.
An illusionist struggles with his motivations for becoming a hero.
Four stories. Four people. A chance to understand them all.
Natural. Superpowered humans. When the Naians attacked the Earth three generations ago, they just appeared, with people exhibiting special abilities all over the world. The moment their powers are discovered, they are encouraged to join the World Protection Program, training to become certified heroes, pledged to protect the earth.
Neutral. Humans without special abilities. You and me. For the most part, they live normal lives much like people do today, since Naturals generally do not do what are considered "civilian" jobs (such as firefighting, police work and the like.) Marked difference is that they must stay out of danger zones and run to cover areas in the event of a skirmish breaking out near them.
Artificial. Superpowered humans descended from a group known as the Experimentals. They secretly experimented on the bodies of willing and eager Neutral volunteers, genetically mutating them to have abilities in a heinous process that is no longer legal. They usually have a physical birth mark to expose their Artificial status. Stigmatized because of their association with human experimentation.
Naian. An alien species from the stars, locked in a battle for the Earth. Desires to conquer the known, weak universe as they see it. Some Naians migrate to the Earth and fight on the human side. Some Naians are Earthborn. Whatever the case, in addition to being exceptionally strong, all Naians have abilities, like Naturals.
